Congressman blames broadband for porn

Listen to article

Catanduanes Representative Joseph Santiago who was also former chief of the National Telecommunications Commission blamed the advent of “cheap, high-speed Internet access” for the proliferation of pornography and so-called “cybersex” activities, a recent article in Inq7.net reports.

Aw, com’on. This man’s barking at the wrong tree. He might have also blamed treeplanting as the reason for massive porn in tabloids.

I think it’s the other way around. Porn drives tech development. So we should blame porn for broadband!

Dapat daw kasi sa PEGASUS na lang tayo mag-spend ng mga “sexual activities” para makatulong pa tayo sa “pagpapa-unlad ng economy ng Pilipinas”. Go “Cong. Joseph Santiago”! Your the MAN. hahahahaha…..

Before high-speed internet and when I was at the tender age of 13, 14, I remember walking out of the subdivision and renting not-so wholesome tapes at the market.

It might be a valid argument here in the US, but not in the Philippines.
