Apple sets up office in the Philippines

We’ve gotten confirmation from several sources that Apple has just set up their Philippine office somewhere in Makati CBD. There were also several job openings that have been filled up starting 1st quarter of this year.

The newly built office will house a fresh team that might include a Channel Sales Manager, Channel Trainer and Education Development Manager Philippines. The last position is still open for applicants based on a listing we found over at LinkedIn.

Several high ranking executives/managers in the local tech sector have been hired to fill up the position in Apple Philippines (we’re not able to specify their names and positions for confidential reasons).

Hopefully, this will pave the way for a local and genuine Apple Retail Store.

Back in 2009, we reported that an Apple Concept Store is being planned for Manila. Then, in 2012, a more concrete plan for an Apple Store in The Fort area was revealed by an architectural firm 16.

We will post more updates and details once we gather more information about this news.

Well, Pinoys are hype-whores. And Apple sells overpriced, hyped up goods. So it’s only fitting.

It’s more of an satellite outpost than a local presence. It’s alright, the economy is doing great and they see our country as a potential growth in the future. They are laying out the ground work.

They have a temporary office – in one of the Regus offices in Makati. AFAIK, Google also started their PH operations in that office space too – magkaiba nga lang ng floor. So – it wasnt really newly built.
