More insights on iOS 7’s new features

With WWDC 2013 just around the corner, more and more information/speculations are starting to emerge about the iOS7’s new features. Apart from “flat design” scheme that we’ve shared to you guys a month back, 9to5mac has uncovered a handful of new features that we could probably expect from the upcoming build of Apple’s mobile platform.

It’s been said that the iOS7 will feature a redesigned interface which allows for better multitasking and lesser device interaction in accessing commonly viewed information such as weather, feeds and the like. Moreover, Innsbruck (iOS7’s codename) is believed to sport a software-based polarizing filter which makes it a bit challenging for shoulder-surfers to see what you’re doing with your device.

From what we know so far, it seems that Apple is trying its best to still keep things competitive between its archrival Android. But amidst all of this, we’re wondering if the rabbit that Apple’s planning to pull from its hat is going to be enough to regain their place at the top of the OS war?

@Anonimi.. ‘the specs of the latest android devices are way way better than the latest apple devices Spec

Your Spec comparison is not relevant as Apple and Android devices use different platforms. You are comparing orange to banana. Apple’s hardwares are ‘optimized’ to run smoothly with its OS. Same optimization with Windows and Blackberry platforms.
Android’s OS is ‘core hungry’ because of its customization feature so the OS needed more cores and RAMs to keep OS running smoothly.

‘In terms of OSes, support for an open source OS is still better than those proprietary OSes like iOS and Windows’

    Android OS
    Pro:
    Open source
    customization feature

    Con:
    Unstable
    Less secure

I have Ios and android devices and not a fan boy for any of these devices. Just my point of view.

Ganito lang yan. Every update ng iOS, papalapit ng papalapit sa features ng android hangang sa maging kamuka na niya ang android..haha.. attack apple fanboys! seriously, ang features ng iOS eh nadadala lang sa hype ng apple. And dont you apple fanboys argue that iphone and ipad is still better than android devices because in you are not aware, the specs of the latest android devices are way way better than the latest apple devices. There is no more competition in terms of device power. In terms of OSes, support for an open source OS is still better than those proprietary OSes like iOS and Windows, atleast in the fields of smart phones and tables.

I don’t think there is a software-based filter. From the source, the screen filters are just for the engineers working on the project to prevent others from seeing the new UI.
