Sale Fail: Villman drops iPad prices by Php1k

Listen to article

So the new iPad 2 has just been announced and retailers are in a rush to clear the remaining inventory of the 1st generation iPad.

One local retailer, Villman, has announced an iPad Sale and offered discounts between Php1,000 to Php2,000 per device.

However, they might has missed that Apple even slashed the suggested retail price of the old iPad by as much as Php4,000.

That means Villman’s sale price are actually higher than Apple’s SRP for the old iPad. I’m hoping someone from the inside would notice and fix the sale price.

regardless, mahal talaga prices sa villman, parang infomax! they cater to those who are lazy to check other stores.

kawawa naman yung mga may internet pero di pa rin alam kung san makakabili ng mas mura sa villman.

@Yuga

Sir Abe, you might want to check VillMan’s post again regarding the sale. They changed it (dunno when) to the following:

16GB WiFi – 19,990
32GB WiFi – 24,990
64GB WiFi – 29,990

16GB WiFi+3g – 26,990
32GB WiFi+3g – 31,990
64GB WiFi+3g – 36,990

So I guess we have to thank your post Sir Abe as it sure did knock some sense into the people at VillMan. :)

Power Mac Center and The A Shop are now selling the iPad1 16gb wifi for only P19,990 (3 mos installment for Power Mac and 6 mos for The A Shop). Digital Hub’s selling it for a much lower price at around P17,000+ (P4,000 off!!) with six mos installment, along with a P1,000 gift certificate which you can use for the iPad case. However… we inquired at Digital Hub yesterday and ALL their branches within Metro Manila are out of stock of the 16gb wifi iPad, the same day they lowered their prices. Fail, Digital Hub, fail!

The good thing is, the 32gb wifi iPad is now only P24,000, the original price of the 16gb before they lowered their prices. Much better choice.

Now I feel bad for my friend who bought the iPad1 only three weeks ago.

di lang naman sa villman pati sa mga selected stores, di nila alam yung price cut sa 1st gen ipads. gaya sa baguio, mga 4-5k lang ang ibinawas, thinking that people will still buy them and not aware of it

power mac offers 3 mos 0%
The A shop offers 6 mos 0%.

Both offers 12 deferred but with a 5% increase.

@someone

Yes. May mga nakapagsabi na sa Price Cut post here in Yugatech na may mga authorized resellers na nag-impose na rin ng 4k price cut.

I’m actually looking forward to buying one. I won’t need the power of the iPad 2 to view documents anyhow. :)

effective na ba yung price drop ng ipad locally? i mean, pag pumunta ka ba sa apple store makaka-avail ka na with their suggested SRP? kung hindi pa, then wala naman mali sa ginawa ng villman.

@ald101294

I guess that is exactly the reason why they can’t lower the prices the same as other authorized resellers can.

Sucks for them. XD

If Apple will be shouldering the discounts of their Ipad units stocks, perhaps Villman will follow the same SRP. :-)

baka naman since the price of their stocked items were originally higher so they can’t give their prices at lower/Apple’s revised price. oh well, mahal naman talaga prices sa Villman.

guys, business is business. kung mahal sa kanila, meron pa namang other stores. kung di nyo pa rin ma-afford, meron pa namang ibang tablet dyan. di lang ipad ang tablet sa mundo. besides, we can’t dictate them what to do. just my two cents.
