I actually deferred writing about it last December as requested by telco insiders but looks like the cat is finally out the hat. Wi-Tribe Philippines did a soft launch recently offering WiMax broadband internet in Metro Manila.
Acer’s famous for notebooks but their first foray into the smartphone market didn’t go quite well. Now, they’re back with a vengence — the Acer Liquid is powered by a SnapDragon processor and Android OS.
Now that the laptop market has been spread thinly with the introduction of netbooks and CULVs, it looks like the regular ones have been placed in the sidelines. Our next poll looks at what people prefer when buying a laptop.

We also got more hands-on time with the Sony-Ericsson Xperia X2 during the Windows Phone press gathering today. Incidentally, the reps of SE Philippines also sent out word the other day that the device will be formally released on February 1, 2010.
In a press gathering by Microsoft today, a number of mobile manufacturers showcased their latest handsets running Windows Mobile. Among the crowd is Filipino-branded phone maker Cherry Mobile showing the WinMo-powered Eclipse.
