Shopping for an Apple iBook

For weeks now, I’ve been on the lookout for a reasonably priced Apple iBook (preferably installment plan). The iBook was not on my Digital Wishlist last May but I’d keen on replacing the Mac Mini there with a 12″ iBook.

I checked my total AdSense earnings since I moved to WP last April and it was more than enough to get me an iBook. My dollar account which I opened up for AdSense is still intact and not a single dollar has been touched. It will end up to be “the iBook that AdSense bought“. :D

It’s a small thing yet but very much worth it.

Last time I checked the low-end iBook (12″, 512 MB RAM, 40GB HDD, 1.33GHz) still retails for about Php67,000 locally. I’m sure it will go lower than that by December. I wonder if there’s some deferred payment available for it (the one with zero interest)? I’ll use my HSBC card just in case (sayang ang Miles!). :D

I would have bought a Mac instead of my Thinkpad X31 if the former was available on a zero-percent installment plan last year.

      Good luck!

CoolToyz might take payment in USD so that you don’t lose money in selling your dollars.

      @ kzap

I want that too! :D hehehe I once asked for a modded case in Greenhills and they costs at least 7k.

      @ Paul

Been seeing some nice deals (0% for 12 months) in the last BPI Sale in Glorietta.

      @Migs

Got some price list from a local Mac distributor a few months back (Ynzal ?) and the prices there were a little lower. If CoolToyz can give me a 12 months 0% percent interest, I’d grab it. :D

What amazes me is that Ad Sense is paying for it! So cool! The Apple resellers in the Philippines don’t give 0% Interest so you will have to pay a little more and get it somewhere else. But if you have the cash get it at the resellers.

My brother is selling his 12-inch iBook G4 for under 50K. His work-related tools and softwares don’t run on Mac.

If you have another credit card, use that to purchase
then transfer your balance to your HSBC card at .75%
per month add on rate, payable in 12 months. However,
it is really better to save money and buy electronic
and appliances for CASH here in the Phil. The banks and CCard Co’s charge 3% to 6% fee to merchants and
guess what?, that is factored in to the price, I
always get a big discount when paying in cash even
if I am tempted to add on to my miles, I pay cash.
