Apparently the same email that was sent to Migs & Gary also found its way to my Inbox. The letter is from Epixtar asking me to delete a comment from my blog (to be exact, from PTB).

I wrote about it on PinoyTechBlog : “Epixtar to PTB: delete that comment.”

Migs and Gary have since deleted the comment on their blogs.

Matter of fact is, I am not obliged to delete that comment. I did not post that comment and if they say that the information there is materially inaccurate, what’s the big fuss? Epixtar is just wasting their time trying to have those comments deleted all over the blogosphere. They should go after the one who posted the comments instead.

As I said, I am not obliged to delete that.

Bro,

Glad to have this medium to express someone’s thoughts and feelings. We’re happy that there’re still places where we could openly express our sentiments. I agree…whatâ€™s the big fuss? More likely, he’s just little worried about the terrible effect for his company given the present condition in their main headquarters and as well as overseas.

I can’t believe what I’m reading and I am appalled with the sentiments being put forth here.

Do you people go to work and tell the security guard, receptionist and all your co-workers how much you are earning? Because that is the impression I am getting. The consensus here seems to be an utter disregard for the confidentiality of employee salaries.

And what is all this talk about how the emails should have been a “tad more polite”? Have you even read the first email? It seems you are too sensitive when it comes to Epixtar’s request (which I found very reasonable) but not sensitive enough to notice confidential information had been posted on your blogs, nor sensitive enough to know that this is unethical and should be removed.

You are so busy patting yourselves on the back, giving each other high fives that you do not realize what you are doing. If you want to play David to Epixtar’s Goliath, then you shouldn’t use Epixtar’s employees (and their privacy) as your slingshot.

Mr. Myatt is making a fuss in regards to the blog because it adds to the already BAD image of Epixtar.

With the comments made on blog, he is likely to be in hot water from the other execs in not containing the situation…

I’m sad for “sad”. The bases of what you are saying is one sided. You are like a pro-GMA, “wag na natin pakialaman kung ano nag-yayari sa loob basta ang mahalaga nakakapagbigay sila ng pera sa Pinas”. As if for the long run, it will not affect a fellow Filipinos there.

Wonderful…just to keep your pride in tact…..you’re also doing something potentially damaging to the entire call industry here.

it only takes 1 case like this to bring a negative perception of the country’s BPO (i.e. contact center) industry.

Just look at what happened to Pakistan with those radiology reports and to why US companies are moving out of India.

well…on the grand scheme of things….at least “tama ka.” and you’re able to keep you blog’s integrity. :(

BTW. this isn’t life-or-death, constitutional right, bla…bla…bla, Martial law, freedom, liberty, etc. Its about proprietary information…and a blog! NOTHING MORE.

Tama yan, Alfie. They should have let it be. Or they should have been a tad more polite in communicating with the bloggers involved. I mean, the tone of their emails comes more of a threat, IMHO.

I agree, Abe. You’re not obliged to delete that. And if others actually take legal action against you, you can always take legal counter-action against them. Fair is fair.
