I think it’s only the Pinoy bloggers who read foreign blogs who link back to posts. Most just link back to the blog homepage, like:

Thanks for the observation. Andrew of Alleba also pointed out that inbound links might actually be spams so I double check every post that is suggested to me.

You are right, Technorati on permalinks matters. And that is observant of you to see that few Pinoy bloggers link back to continue a conversation. You nail it in the head, Miguel. Thats the reason why the posts on the list are remarkable: Filipinos link back to them.

What makes a good blob is talking about interesting material that is useful. A bad blob is something that talks about non nense na’ mean? Do ya’ll know what Im talking bout? Technorati is not accurate for blogs per se because it counts things like blogroll links. It is OK for post permalinks.

But then again, I have observed that few Pinoy bloggers link back to posts to continue the conversation.

I would not count the comments as a meter for popularity because there are a lot of lurkers in some blogs. It also depends on the type of posts that you make. If it does not solicit comments or actions, there would be no reactions.

Furthermore, more bloggers are using moderation because of spam. There are comments which are actually spam.

The technorati link is another questionable measure for popularity. I visited the links of one web designer who ranked high in the top and I found out that the websites designed contained nothing. When I say nothing, I am not critical about the content but it is really nothing because many of them were merely activated as if being used. Except for intros, no further entries followed.
