That’s how one magazine does their link footnotes nowadays. Reminds of those AOL Keywords. Digital Media Asia showed screenshots of my Macbook Air Commercial video parody in their February 2008 issue.

People are becoming more conscious about their online privacy nowadays. This concern is more prominent with public computer terminals like net cafes, offices and schools. Dozens of softwares out there are available to help you keep your privacy but this one is something that’s pretty amusing. Check it out after the jump.
I’m not sure if this story is true or just plain funny but it seems Accenture may have actually gotten patent rights to “outsourcing”.
A quick post at Techdirt quotes:

A reader contacts me with a really catchy Subject in his email — “Nationwide Emergency Roadside Assistance for the Car that Blogging Bought!” That little piece of personal news was like 18 months old and still, people remember it.
Now that one’s for the books! A Pasay City School has filed a law suit against Microsoft Philippines for pirating copyrighted material. [ Digg this! ]
I know this is kinda paranoid already but several people have contacted me about erratic to no internet connection. Yes, there’s that 12 midnight to 5am police curfew imposed on the entire Mega Manila, but the internet? There’s also the detention processing of media people who were present during the siege at the Manila Peninsula Hotel. I’d like to believe that this knee-jerk reaction is nothing to be worried about. Anybody else having problems with their net connection? Couldn’t it be just net traffic congestion?
We Filipinos are the world’s most gullible consumers when it comes to commercial advertising. We shared the crown with Brazilians. No wonder print and broadcast advertising are still strong (billions!) in the country.

We saw the amazing original dancing Christmas lights last year. Last night, while hanging out at the Bonifacio High Street at the Fort, they had a similar Christmas light show. Took a short video clip using my camera phone.

This is like walking down memory lane. This YouTube video shows all of the logos, sounds, and start-up screens of Microsoft Windows.
After my talk at the SEMCON last week, I was approached by several attendees to discuss several stuff. One of the topics included the state of online music store in the Philippines. The main question I was trying to answer was — How much should music cost?
Now that the aggrieved parties have been consoled by the recent public apology from the “Desperate Housewives” incident, I’d like to share some YouTube compilations I found yesterday.
Note: List of TV series and movies referring to Filipinos.
A recent episode of popular TV series Desperate Housewives (season 4) made a joke about medical schools in the Philippines that has been the cause for outrage by a lot of Filipinos.
See the short YouTube clip here:

By now, most of you might have heard of the Boy Bastos news and the search warrant made by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Mark Verzo’s house earlier. Mark is the owner of the site BoyBastos.com and also a blogger who owns a blog network. The portal is currently down as instructed by the authorities.
I won’t talk about any legalese here as I’m not in authority to discuss those issues. From my point of view, and having dealt with people from the NBI before on a similar situation, here are my tips to avoid the same treatment from them.

Now, this is really interesting. The Manila Standard Today announces that the infamous columnist Malu Fernandez is back in their roster or writers. This, after an earlier report that she submitted her resignation letter to two publications — MST and People Asia.
In a recent copy of the Manila Standard Today, a section displays a picture of Malu with the headline — Divalicious will resume next Monday. See picture after the jump.
We’d like to interrupt our regular programming to bring you some raw talent. I don’t know French so I can’t translate this one.
Wait… you don’t need any translation to be amazed by this kid.
I’ve been hearing about these YouTube videos from so many people already. Most refer to it as Tonton and the 300. The series features several portions of the movie 300 and Troy dubbed in Ilonggo. Those who’ve watched it on YouTube say it’s really funny even if they don’t know what the people are talking about.
I’ve decided to translate one of the videos from Hiligaynon (or “Ilonggo”) to English. See video and translation after the break.
Last night, tech TV show Digital Tour on Studio 23 aired its last episode according to Rain. ABS CBN’s dedicated forums for the show did not contain any updates as to why the show was junked not does their official section page on the network’s website.

What? They didn’t thought it would come down to this? Hook up any PC to the internet and 99% of the time, it’ll end up will some sort of pr0n one way or another. Apparently, the One Laptop Per Child Project is no exception.
Reuters reports that Nigerian students that have recently been beneficiaries of the OLPC project got too curious with the internet:
