Mozilla Firefox 3.5 is now officially out and ready for download. You can grab the full installer on the site or if you have an old version of Firefox, just go to Help -> Check for Updates.

ICQ was once the biggest instant messaging service back in the 90s. It used to be the default IM in most net cafes until it was slowly replaced by YM. Not sure what happened but it just faded away.
Two top-notch apps are now available on the iPhone App Store — the Yahoo! App and the Skype App are ready for download to your iPhone for free.
So Nokia also announced its upcoming Ovi Store, a centralized content marketplace that will provide applications, games, videos, tones, graphics and more to most Nokia phone owners. It’s practically the same as the Android Marketplace, the Apple App Store and the BlackBerry Application Storefront.
Google has just introduced Google Latitude on top of its mapping service. The new feature enables you to track friends on Google Maps via their GPS-capable mobile phone.

It’s still an alpha version but Intel has already introduced the Moblin 2 Netbook OS.
Google Chrome recently got promoted to version 1.0 and dropping the beta label. At the same time, it also got another promotion on Google Pack, pushing back FireFox down as the default web browser.
Another microblogging service bites the dust. Got an email just now announcing the shutdown of Pownce (similar to Jaiku, Twitter and Plurk).
More than a third of the respondents in the last poll agreed that VLC is the most preferred media player. Windows Media Player came in at a close second.
The much-awaited Firefox Mobile browser (codenamed Fennec) is now out in Alpha 1 release. Problem though is that it’s only available for the Nokia N810 Internet tablet for the meantime.

Several Linux flavors attempted to go mainstream when they were introduced pre-installed into netbooks. It was free, performs well and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It made sense and seemed like a perfect fit. Or not.
Got an email from a BizDev guy from Mozilla Corp. requesting if YugaTech readers could answer this really short survey about web browsers and Firefox. “Mozilla is considering doing some new actions in the Philippines in 2009 and having some feedback from Filipino Internet users would be really valuable for us.” Check out this 20-item survey.
After Google officially abandoned Firefox in favor of its own branded Chrome browser, it looks like Mozilla sought the help of Yahoo to continue to promote its open source browser.
Been beta-testing this new Nokia Sports Tracker service for about two weeks now and only recently I’ve been able to post some updates (photos & videos) on my tracker profile.
Google developed the Chrome browser in an attempt to grab a chunk of Internet Explorer’s market share. It was able to impressively get 1% share on day 1, not against Microsoft’s IE, but away Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
