Photography: Ateneo vs. La Salle

Go to watch the V League games between Ateneo and La Salle yesterday evening. It’s like the PBL for womens’ volleyball. Was able to capture some nice shots I’d like to share.

Photos taken using my Canon Rebel XT (350D) with Sigma APO 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro. I rarely use this lens. Last time I pulled it out of the bag was during my trip to the Singapore Zoo.

Sadly enough, Ateneo lost the game to La Salle, 0-3. Maybe next time.

Looking for best Blog Parteeh pictures!

I’m looking for great pictures from the Blog Parteeh which will be used and featured in the GMANews.tv portal. I’m seeing tons and tons of photo galleries and I don’t have a lot of time to browse thru all of them so, I’ll just ask for them directly here.

In the comments, please post your best pictures (use the IMG tag if need be). Don’t post a link to your gallery, just the specific pictures you think best captures the event. We’ll then select several shots from those and submit them to the guys at GMA7 which they will use on their website.

Take note that by posting the pictures or the link to the pictures here, you are explicitly allowing GMA7 to use your pictures for their website. Thanks!

Photo Project: Kids

Just got back from Boracay, via Kalibo, Aklan hoping we could get a glance of what their Ati-Atihan Festival would look like. But alas, the heavy traffic, crowded streets and heavy baggage prevented us from doing so.

Here’s some quick picks from the Bora gallery I’m currently uploading.

Taken using my Canon Rebel XT with the Canon 50mm F/1.8 & 10-22mm F/3.5

It helps if you understand or speak the local dialect so the kids won’t be too shy to get their pics taken.

At first, I just take shots before even asking them but it turns out you’re gonna get better poses if you ask nicely.

Even if I asked, I don’t usually get positive replies. I wanted to shot a kid while he’s doing some back-flips but he stopped when he saw me aiming my lens at him.

I also met one of the top professional photographers (dorm mate and old friend back in college) in the country, Jake Versoza.

My Renewed Love for Photography

It’s been over a month that I have not used my Canon Ixus 30 to my enjoyment. Thanks to my new-found subject(s), I’m again inspired to experiment.

The cute puppy’s name is Genious. The two young deers are Sunny and Sky, very apt by the colors of their fur. (Wait a sec, are they really deers? Hmmm, I’m not very sure anymore.)

Say Alonzo on Pinoy Big Brother

Last night while visiting a friend, I was surprised to hear the name “Say” as one of the housemates on Pinoy Big Brother. It immediately caught my attention and my eyes were glued to the TV for the next 8 to 10 minutes. I wasn’t really interested in Pinoy Big Brothers (PBB) even with much of the hype and buzz going around. (I seldom watch TV, much more local channels.)

But Say (or Sheryll Ann Alonzo Yutadco?) is there and that got me interested to the show. She’s one of the (former) gals in the office. One of the prettier ones, dresses very well, always smiling, very friendly (kikay) and “ma-chikka”. She’d always brag that she’s the most popular person amongst our officemates.

This entry is my small contribution to her and I hope people who might stumble on this site looking for more pictures or info about her might be persuaded to help get her into the finals of PinoyBigBrother.
