Thank You to Sponsors!

Time for another obligatory post to thank our advertisers and sponsors. This month and last month saw a huge jump in our direct advertisers so I guess they need a bump in traffic-lovin’.

Feedburner’s gone bonkers!

Not again. Had some visitors mentioned about it, I would have not noticed. Looks like Feedburner’s experiencing another bout of server problems. Their forums are closed and a quick search revealed several other bloggers are experiencing the same. Several of my blogs are getting the same ill treatment as well.

First, thanks to everyone who join our mini-survey. The numbers are in and I’d like to share with everyone the results. This is the first time I had something like this and results were pretty interesting.

New Year, New Server

Just got hold of a new server. Bought this last January 1, 2008 for good luck and better times ahead. That means I’m moving this blog again this week.

YugaTech Recap for the Year 2007

A number of bloggers have published a year-ender recap of what had transpired in the Philippine blogosphere for the year 2007. I will not repeat what they’ve posted as I think they make a better summary than I do. I’ll just do my own recap of the year.

Breaking 2,000 & 25,000

Didn’t notice this until today but this blog has actually broken 2,000 posts and 25,000 comments. That’s for 2 years and 8 months that this blog has last been relaunched. That comes down to a little over 2 posts per day and 26 comments per day. Here’s to the next thousand! *heh*

WEBBYS vote 17

That’s what you gotta remember when voting for the 10th Philippine Web Awards (People’s Choice) this year. Text “WEBBYS vote 17” and send to 210 for Smart & Talk N’ Text or to 2973 for Globe & Touch Mobile. Send as many votes as you can. There’s an Online Voting too.

Many thanks! :D

Blocked and back from ABS-CBN

Just got back from ABS CBN, guesting for Manolo’s The Explainer about the ZTE deal. An hour before that, I also had another taped interview for another show on ANC. The topic was about buying and selling online web properties. Guess the sale of PinoyTopBlogs got their attention.

While using their PCs, I discovered that this blog is blocked from their network. My other blogs are showing fine though. Why, oh why? The MIS people at ABS-CBN doesn’t like surfers reading my blog then.

YugaTech Forums now up!

I’ve been mulling over this for some time now. The recent avalanche of emails and text messages from people who saw the TV feature prompted me to move to a more scalable platform in order to effectively address the communication needs (without draining much of my time and brain matter).

Hence, the birth of the YugaTech Forums.

Messing around with the Theme

After several weeks mulling over the CSS reboot of this blog, and after considering several of the earlier comments and suggestions, I’ve finally decided to roll out a minor tweak to the theme.

Some of the more obvious changes are the background (I wanted to be a little artsy this time), the logo and some font sizes and colors. Hope the improvements are appreciated by the reading public.

YugaTech CSS reboot!

yugatechThis has long been overdue but we’ve finally moved on to a new blog design. For the past 2 and a half years, since the last reboot and move to WordPress, this blog had sported the heavily-modified Connections theme, prolly the most kick-ass opensource theme of that time.

Today, after about 7 months of sluggish progress, I present you the new YugaTech theme. This 3-column design was inspired by K2 and GlossyBlue themes.

Moving Servers, again

I am, once again, moving servers. The AMD Opteron 246 I bought 8 months ago could not take the amount of load of all the blogs I run. Actually I think it’s PinoyTopBlogs again that’s the culprit.

To save some money, I got a smallish and older server (AMD Athlon 64 3200+) to compliment the Opteron. Both servers are now running at tip top speeds and CPU usage is below 80% on average.

Most of the other blogs have been moved last week but this blog is scheduled for today, having Gigabytes of pictures uploaded on the gallery makes it harder/longer to migrate.

Anyway, during the move, some comments might get caught during the transition and might not appear later today or once the DNS have properly re-propagated.

Just a heads up in case you’d wonder where your comments went.

Update: Migration has been fully completed. If you can see this updated post, then you’re loading the site from the new server. ;)

Thanks to our sponsors

Just making space to extend my thanks to our sponsors:

TextLinkAds : for the opportunity to earn more revenues for my blogs without compromising a lot of real estate space and usability. Revenues from link ads and post-level text ads are growing by the month.

Text Link Brokers : a good marketplace for link advertising and compliments well with TLA.

Ikobo : an international remittance service who have been with us for quite some time now.

AdAuction : a fairly new affiliate program by Auction.ph for bloggers and website owners. Read my official endorsement for AdAuction here.

Remit2Home : another newly launched online remittance service similar to Xoom.

The same goes to Google AdSense, ReviewMe and Feedburner Ad Network.

Over at PTB, I’d like to thank our annual advertisers there too:

The Blog Herald - your international destination for fresh blog news and features.

Architel - an IT outsourcing company looking for work-from-home Filipino engineers

Cigar Outlet - smokes anyone?

Bellenza - the wedding specialists

If you’re interested in advertising in any of our blogs here or on our blog network, just contact me. ;)
