Here’s an interesting new poll. How much of your income comes from your blogs or your blogging gigs?
During the Mindanao Bloggers Summit, we had a panel of bloggers answering questions from the crowd. One of the most controversial question was focused on how much we earn from our blogs. I knew from the start that my fellow panelist would remain silent so I tried to initiate and strike a deal with Mindanao Bob — he tells us how much he earns and we’ll all tell ours.
At the end, Bob gave us a range (in the multiples of his US salary before) and Jayvee shared his salary as Channel Editor at b5media.
Now that everyone from their pet dogs to their house maids has a blog and in some ways are monetizing them, the next interesting question goes like this — How much of your income comes from your blog?
The options are found in the sidebar in our official Polls widget. Choose from “less than 10%” to 100%. Even full time probloggers have varying income streams although I reckon most of you who will participate in this poll would have a day job or two.
Another question which I usually throw blogger friends who still go to their 8-5’s is: What amount do you need to earn from your blogs to quit your day job? Please share your answer to this one in the comments.
