Wanted: Corporate Blogger

Listen to article

A friend/client emailed me last night asking for a favor about getting interested applicants for a “Corporate Blogger” position.

This is a serious job that will involve blogging for the web media company which provides consultancy, design and development of websites, including blogs. The selected blogger will be regularly doing some research and blogging about the industry. I still don’t have the full details but initial info includes general interest in blogging, familiarity with WordPress as the preferred CMS client and good scholastic background or writing skills. I believe this is a remote job but you might be required to meet with the client for an interview. No details about the payment structure (fixed monthly or per post) but that can be negotiated.

If you are interested in this gig, email me or leave a comment here with your blog URL. I’ll keep everyone posted here once I get more details.

Thanks for the invite. Yup. Newsvine looks better than Digg or (dare I say?) Slashdot. Maybe because the content has more meat?

Hello Guys!

I already sent this link to the employer and have forwarded your emails to them as well.

@ Jayvee

There is actually a company in Makati that employs bloggers to write for several niche industries. In terms of corporate blogging though, this could the very first here in the Philippines.

Blog for business is all about search engine rankings and site popularity so they get visited more often and possibly make a sale.

Oh wait… here’s a post I did about call centers. I think this is as close as I got to posting something corporate:

Sorry for the multiple comments, I’m just on my second cup of coffee and it takes about three to jump start my brain…

Well, this looks interesting. Maybe I’ll take a gander. Is this a full time job? Oh and I have another blog that’s more “article based” than my “link based” one. It’s at http://thudsplat.blogspot.com

i meant corporate blogging in the philippine setting :)

there are two types of corporate blogs – the internal ones that are used as a substitute for email, and the external ones which are basically a soft sell / human element marketing. corporate blogs also give the company a face and personality to deal with.

good good.

interesting. ‘meeting the client’ assumes that this is a blog for a local company?

this is a first, if i am not mistaken, in corporate blogging?

hmmm…i wonder if they would accept under grad student?

I’m now starting to look for a summer job. Question is, am I worthy to be hired?

I’m not even sure if people are reading my blog, but it’s something I’m really working on. ;)

internet-savvy businesses big and small are now discovering the advantages of having a blog. our company maintains two, one for projects and the other an aggregate on newsfeeds for the kind of work we do. not much creative writing work goes into them at the moment, but they are updated several times a week. the opportunity for inter-linking and link exchanges is tremendous.
