Did Yahoo just buy Technorati?

Listen to article

Or was it just a browser bug?

David Berlind from ZDNet blogs posted:

Either I just encountered a very strange browser bug, or Yahoo has just acquired Technorati. Just moments ago, while viewing the Technorati search results for Between the Lines, I clicked through to this link about Dan Farber’s interview with Dave Winer. But when I hit the back button, I got an apology that was clearly generated by Yahoo!’s servers telling me that the page couldn’t be found on Yahoo!’s servers. The tab’s title in Firefox (inserted below) also showed the Technorati logo along with the text “Yahoo! – 404 Not Found.” I was not able to repeat the error. Is this some crazy browser bug. Or, did I miss the big news?

Could be just a bug but as Mike Arrington asked last January, “When will Yahoo buy Technorati?

Sorry to nitpick, but I think the title’s supposed to be “Did Yahoo! just *buy* Technorati?” I wouldn’t mind it so much if it were in the post body, but this is the title.

As for the topic itself. Pinging both Yahoo! and Technorati gives unrelated IP addresses. Not that it proves anything. =p
