Thanks for posting on this, Abe. Joomla has indeed evolved to a much more impressive state than many of the other free CMS’s. I’m exploring starting another blog which really won’t ‘fit’ in the sequential posts, view one after another mode that WordPress does so well. I looked at a few other CMS’s over the past few weeks and they gave me a headache.

Props to Joomla’s leadership also for doing something too many other freebie programs don’t do … keeping the current version connected with Fantastico. Nothing more annoying than setting up an app through Fantastico and then finding out the owners/maintainers have jumped several versions ahead, so you have to do it all over again, manually.
@ Joseph … what was the ebook you read on Joomla? Any other good (preferably free) Joomla learning sources out there?

Thanks for your assistance yesterday Abe. The team really appreciated it.

WordPress is great for a blog. But Joomla is really a very good and powerful CMS for a news site. You just have to take some time to study it and figure out how it works.

About the look of the new Newsbreak website, the team is looking for a good web artist (who has some experience designing a joomla template) to help us improve our site template. If you know of anybody, please refer them to us.

If there are any more comments that might help in improving the site, the link to my name opens a feedback form. The Newsbreak team will really appreciate receiving feedback on this.

I’m starting to learn Joomla just last night, when I installed it and read and ebook. So far everything has been going smoothly. I don’t like the lay-out though, of the Newsbreak website. Too cluttered, they use serif fonts and a lot of ads.

Joomla is good though needs a lot of work on the usability side. Most of the time, it’s too much for what people intend to use it for.

I junked a joomla system and replaced it with a customized wordpress one.
