Today marks the day when we bring blogging into a new level in the Philippines. We will show everyone that we are serious about blogging. That our growth is only matched by our desire to create a unique online identity; our maturity is moved by creativity and the drive to push meaningful content; our credibility is carried by our passion to be heard, to engage and to be counted. The Philippine Blog Awards recognizes this growth and, hopefully, had help spread the word virally. (In short, I hope everybody got more links, more traffic and more subscribers to their blogs!)
I’d like to personally thank everyone who made this event a success. I’m writing it here now if ever I fail to meet and greet everyone tonight.

I’d say I’ve never met a bunch of bloggers as ecstatic, selfless, and hard-working as our team of event volunteers. Without them, I don’t think we could have made it this far nor will I ever know the meaning of ingress & egress.
Our Judges
They’re a busy bunch and we know it’s really darn hard to judge equally talented and active bloggers. We’re all glad they’ve spared their precious time and help us pick the best blogs in their respective niches.

It goes without saying that this event is for all of us Pinoy bloggers. This event is not just about the best blogs out there. This event is a way of celebrating our presence in cyberspace. May we all kick some more butts!

After writing the finalists, I forgot to thank the Three Wise Guys who cooked up the 1st Philippine Blog Awards. My tribute to all you can find in my website.
I have one request: Please don’t refer to the Blog Awards by its acronym PBA – it doesn’t sound right. Blogging is more than a ball game. Sure, there are brawls, but it’s more brains than brawns.
Just wanted to congratulate the organizers, the volunteers, and the brains behind this event. See you all next year.

This is a milestone for all Filipino bloggers. Congrats sa ating lahat!
As a non-Filipino who lives in the Philippines by choice I was sorry not to be able to attend but I wish to congratulate all the participants, organizers and particularly the winners.
I say to my Filipino blogging brethren, keep your eye on the prize, not whatever minor problems may have upset you.
In case you think it’s not important to group, to publicize and get media time for bloggers, consider this. Last night my Filipino neighbor’s adult son, a well-spoken UP graduate who even used to run an Internet cafe spoke to me over the fence .. his question? “MY dad said I should ask you, what is this thing called ‘blogging’.”
He’s certainly not ignorant, but many are still kept in the dark … it takes along time to educate folks and it’s not always an easy task … hat’s off to those of you who are “doing”.
I wish to extend my congratulations to the organizers, judges, sponsors and winners of the Philippine Blog Awards 2007. I must say that everyone did a great job to make the event possible.
I’d like to extend my congratulations to all the winners and the organizers. What a job well done. You should all be proud.
