How about adding a check-box in the Preferences to turn it off once in for all. That way, those who already know how to use it will have the option to disable that bar. But firefox, yield most of my expectation, thus the percentage of using firefox over flock is around 60% firefox, 30% flock and 10% IE and others. It's only recently that I've switched to Firefox because of the lack of plugins (as you've pointed out). But I still love it better than firefox! :D I used Flock for a long time.
