A couple of weeks after IE announced it will incorporate tabbed browsing with the release of IE7, it has provide the same feature on IE 6 just now. Tabbed browsing was popularized by competing browsers such as Safari, Opera and Firefox, which allowed multiple tabbed windows in just one open browser application. With it comes less clutter and new tabs open much faster.
One can enjoy the same tabbed feature on IE6, but, one has to install it with MSN Toolbar.

IE is feeling it!
aahhh… must… resist… the darkside…
I hope ie7 would patch up most security bugs, pati ung sa CSS nila (pif!) nakakainis gumawa ng weblayout na compatible for ie (no choice eh).
@hoop - ahaha
your thoughts betray you, you cant resist the dark side [kuzz-fizz].
@retzwork, if I were you, don’t make your pages that are more compatible with IE because it is not standards compliant. Just tell your viewers to use Firefox instead
Yes, they are going to make IE7 more compliant (like fully supporting alpha transparency in PNGs, and that CSS I guess) but I do not know the development roadmap of IE7. MS likes inserting their own extensions to their browsers. Hmmm, maybe I’ll write about this one in the corporate blog…
@retzwerx
hahaha… cool!
@fleeb - roger that!
@hoop - hehe
I tried it. Not as good as Firefox had implemented it. But it will do for sites that won’t work with Firefox, esp. banking sites.
@yuga
I guess that’s one of the things I hate about bpiexpressonline.com, the dropdown’s don’t work in firefox. but heck… I have no choice but to use IE
otherwise, I would have to go over the counter and incurr a surcharge when paying ploghost
Maybe we should tell them to use Firefox? Or for webdevelopers out there, this could be an opportunity. For me, Firefox is primary browser, and IE becomes my alternative
@fleeb
great idea! I just sent them an email at expressonline@bpi.com.ph with that suggestion.
@hoop,
might as well do the same with Metrobank Direct.
Uy, nakigaya.

@yuga,
err… that might be difficult… given that I’m not a metrobank client plus they’re requiring my phone number when posting a suggestion… hehehe…
You can try posting your suggestion here though.

I attended Microsoft Techfest 2005 Summer Edition last week and they did give us a sneak peak of the IE7
Did it look like this?

Hehehe
Just an update on the BPI w/ firefox… the nice guys at BPI (thanks Patricia of BPI email team!) gave me this link to use if my browser is not IE or Netscape.
https://www.bpiexpressonline.com/direct_signinnie.htm
then the menu bars on the top part still won’t work but they added the same links on the bottom of the page.
Haven’t tried transferring funds yet though, but I can access the said feature.
Thanks hoop! It now definitely works with BPIExpressOnline. I am able to do some bills payments and fund transfers.
Great!… and for my next trick… I will now attempt to convince the G8 nations to forgive our country’s debt
how’s that for a blogging crusade?
@Hoop
Sorry to dissappoint you hoop, but the G8 only forgive one’s country’s debts if it passes their test - that there must be “good governance” and “no corruption (or minimal that is)”.
For now, on to spread FireFox blogging crusade
@Fleeb
Thanks!
