Google Analytics, MapStats, StatsCounter, SiteMeter, ShortStats (WP plugin), Mint, Webalizer, AWStats, etc…
With all that web statistic tools out there, which ones do you prefer and why? What features do you like the most and which figures you always check. If you talk about your blog stats, which one do you use as your main reference? (I suppose it’s the one that gives you the best numbers.)
Not all web stats tool are created the same. Some will give you higher figures than others. Most are free while some are for pay. Others are built-in your hosting account.
Just curious.

I have been using Webalizer, which is part of my hosting package. I just installed WP-ShortStat though, and it looks nice. I’ll try it out for a while.
Awstats is nice for uniques and site info, pageviews are inflated though
in the end you want a fast 3rd party tracker thats accurate.
google analytics (urchin) is just too complicated and doesnt make sense)
astig ang awstats, kase ang daming info…
i also use statcounter, kaso lang limited ung features kase nga free lang, eh kung may bayad naman wag na lang… hehe
I use tracewatch. I’ve just never had the initiative to change …
http://www.tracewatch.com/
right now, im using the WP plugin - Shortstats..it gives you the total number of hits for that day, incuding the unique ones..then the type of platform Windows, Mac, Linux, etc..then the browser used, the recent referrers, countries and languages. i always check the recent referrers.
Serverside: AWStats
This is for server logs/access processing.
Client-Side: Google Analytics
I use this for other stats that is harder to track through server logs. (Conversion Tracking, E-Commerce, Etc.)
On shortstats, you’ll be better off on Mint. Clean and sleak user interface - it is originally developed by a designer - UI goodness on the shortstat package is something to be expected.
Comparison reports online indicates (and I attest) a 20% difference between AWStats and Google Analytics (Urchin) web analytics.
Unless you know what you are tracking for and what your goals are for your site, the stats you show on your blogs/sites means nothing, they’ll just be another site bling.
i use AWStats, very detailed kasi.. daming infos like anong site nag refer sa visitors anong country galing, search engine keywords, and a lot more stuff..
love it..
better than my previous free counter
