I’m a firefox user, I now only use IE from time to time when visiting sites that require ActiveX.

Once the novelty wears off, it’s rating is not gonna last- most choose firefox for it’s addons and IE for simplicity, other (opera, netscape, etc) browser’s just minority, chrome falls with them, there’s nothing really jaw dropping with it, really.

I’m a Firefox user. I’m concurrently using the new Google Chrome for browsing to test it. The only flaw I encountered so far is it doesn’t support the RTE of http://www.i.ph.

I read an article that Google Chrome EULA claims ownership of everything you create on Google Chrome such as blog posts, here’s an explanation from their terms and condition:

11. Content license from you
11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the Services and may be revoked for certain Services as defined in the Additional Terms of those Services.

11.2 You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

11.3 You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.

11.4 You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

chrome has security issues. second, I think they borrowed some features from Opera, like the tiled homepage but none the less its a good competitor

Google chrome is still in beta, once all the bugs are fixed, it will surely give FF,IE,Opera and Safari, a run for their money

See, I called this one first.

The reasoning is this: Firfeox market share comes from its usefulness and its usability. It’s a good browser. IE’s market share come from the fact that it comes with Windows and a lot of corporate money has been invested on the browser. Ergo, when a really good third browser shows up like Chrome, IE will not be affected but FF will be. As Google Chrome gets better and more third-party applications is made available (I’ll switch immediately once they get weather reports and RSS feeds), the appeal of FF will wane.

I think it’s too early to say. Stats from its first few days after release hardly qualifies as conclusive

Besides I think that 1.11% or 1.15% are from all the bloggers, tech reviewers and curious geeks who downloaded it to try it out and give it a spin.

For sure, it still has a long way to go and only time will tell if Google can manage to wrestle away market share from Microsoft’s IE.
