What do you think of Google+?

Listen to article

I’ve probably sent out a couple of hundred invites for Google+ yesterday until Google closed the invites for over-capacity. But for those who received an invite and was able to get in, what do you think of Google+?

First, I have to say the simple and very clean design works best but it still reminds me of the usual Facebook Wall. What really separates it from FB is that you are able to segregate your friends from the get-go — it’s like how Friendster used to do it before. The Huddle feature is also interesting.

The good thing is that there’s a web app you can use from your phone and an Android app you can install (still limited to the US though) which really helps how you use the service (just look for the APK and download it to your Android phone or tablet). Oh, there’s a check-in feature here too!

So, going back to my question — what do you think of Google Plus?

The question is… will it be enough to kill FB?

It’s pretty clean (like everyone else said). I wish it had Youtube support on the get go and I wish it integrated Buzz into the stream. Right now Buzz is a separate tab in your profile.

Overall a solid entry. I’ve come back to G+ more than I have in FB when it started. I guess that’s a good thing at least for me.

UI was awesome! Although hindi ko pa na-explore lahat…

I like the “Circles” and Sparks too!

It appears to have an age restriction, all I get when I try to join is an error message stating:

This feature is not available for your account
You must be over a certain age to use this feature.

I think you have to be 18 or above to join. :|

Thanks for the invite!

I like its simple approach and features. It really felt like a combination of a couple of SNS riding on other Google features. There’s really a huge potential. Good move Google. :)

Thanks for the invite. I tested it and its really smooth. Simple but really much better and easier compared to FB.

Sad to say no market dl for the Philippines but if your phone is rooted you can download market enabler, set it to T-mobile and you will be able to download this app from the market.

I like the interface: really clean, something that is a trademark of Google. The interface needs some familiarizing though. I like the Hangout feature, and Circles is like Facebook Groups and Twitter rolled into one. If anyone wants invites, I’m willing to share the new Google + experience with you. :)

I like it. :)

The best yung hangout feature group video chat pede pa kayo sabay sabay manood ng iisang youtube vid lol.

And the auto upload (auto marked as private) ng pic pag kinuha mo sa android phone mo. :)

And spark its like mini google reader…

so far so good. sana hindi lang maging kasing gulo ng facebook na masyado na masakit sa mata! lol

A lot of the features you can already do on Facebook. I guess some just weren’t aware.

I like how you can watch real-time Youtube videos with your friends. I also love the interactive way of arranging your friends using one of google +’s signature feature, circles. Plus it syncs with your other google apps. Overall, Google + looks promising.

Like the the concept of G+ Circles. It’s so easy to organize your contacts. Sharing stuffs private to a particular group of people is as easy as picking apples.

first, thank you for the invite sir abe! the UI is good, clean and easy to navigate. the feature i like is the “circle” it’s like making a group just like facebook but it is easier since you just have to drag them to the “circles” pretty cool, but still familiarizing myself. so far so good..

still.. every now and then i can’t help myself comparing it to facebook..

just my 2 cents..

Ok kasi harnessing the power of the crowd’s website preference. Most probably gagamitin as one of the factors for SERP ranking.

Again, thank you for the invite Abe.

For me, it’s still too early to tell if it’s good or if it’s going to knock Facebook’s socks off. Once it opens to the public and that we can try most of its features with our friends (you know, real interaction), then we’ll see.

I’ve also downloaded the .apk file over the web and installed it on my phone. It’s very slow on my SGS & it lagged most of the time. On the other hand, It’s all good (when it worked). I’m sure they’ll smooth things out eventually or hopefully before public release.

Good but could be better. Can it beat Facebook? Not sure for now. Those who are tired of the noise in FB will surely like G+.

The concept is really amazing but the implementation is a bit off. The UI is mostly text based, users will be overwhelmed and be confused what to read first.

Yes the UI is neat, but masyadong neat kaya medyo boring na. No WOW factor.

A step by step wizard on its features is a big help, but considering it is still in Beta, maybe there are still more features to come.

Google should think of not only something new but something interesting and addicting in order for them to compete with or even outshine Facebook.
