Neo Vivid v1100 UMPC

Listen to article

And we thought Neo would stop at its Neo Explore X2 series. Looks like they’ve got a totally new model out the door — the Neo Vivid v1100 UMPC was spotted during the Intel Atom launch earlier today.

Basic configuration for the Neo Vivid includes an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 120GB SATA HDD, WiFi, 3-in-1 card reader, and a webcam. Display screen is 8.9-inch with resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

The Neo Vivid v1100 still has that semblance of the older Neo Explore series but has better design and finish than the former. Available in black, white, pink and yellow. Curious question is — has the Neo Explore branding a failure that they had to rename it? The Vivid could have easily been the Explore X3.

This model retails in stores for Php19,900 but you can bump the RAM to 2GB for an additional Php1,000. Pre-installed OS is Windows XP on a 30-day trial.

Hello, i own a neo vivid v1100 and it has a short battery life,
i think it’s close to being defective because originally has a 3-hr battery life, but now, it’s good only for an hour..
my problem was i always left the plug in even if it’s already bat-ful..

I searched online but i guess my search engine isn’t really working well.. do you know some place where i could buy a more okei battery aside from it’s manufacturer? is it possible that i can get it from any stores? please help. thank you

You can download osx86 and turn it into a Mac laptop (wireless doesn’t work) or you can load Novell Linux 11.1 on it – everything works.

If you want WiFI under OS/X to work you need to swap out the built in mini-PCI RALINK card with something that sucks less – like a dell or broadcom based card.

It comes with a full version of Win XP home. It is not a trial version. There is no trial version of a OEM operating system. Use your brains before you write reviews…

It does however ship with a trial version of Microsoft Office.

No os yet? That’s ridiculous. Might as well give up.

@BrianB – supposed to be Windows XP but it won’t come out of the box for free. Just trial version.

@Lucien – up to 1024×600 now.

What’s the screen’s resolution? Their last netbook had an 8.9 inch screen with the same low resolution as its 7 inch brother.
