Technorati vs. Google Blog Search

Listen to article

Just a quick survey — do you still use Technorati over Google Blog Search? Why?

Technorati
US market usage reports via Techcrunch last Dec. 2006

Which of the two is better at tracking/indexing blog specific posts? I still enjoy the use of Technorati tags to track definite topical searches. It’s a really great filter. Feature-wise Technorati still rocks. I wonder if Yahoo is looking at buying it soon.

Technorati has a search function? Really? No, seriously I know the function is there, but what use it would be to me I have no idea. Too many bloggers seem to see what other bloggers are writing about and then write the same things … self-defeating in my book.

Technorati would be a great investment for Google though, in terms of market penetartion/visibility but a lousy one in terms of technology/customer service … if I were Sergi and Brin I would just concentrate on just doing what Technorati does better and better until Technorati dies a natural death … but then again, I’m not that smart.

I use Technorati, I only knew about Google Blog Search on WordPress. At first look (use), Technorati seem to be more convenient and flexible to use than Google Blog search.

Google Blogsearch for it’s date feature.

Technorati for tags and blog authority.

Otherwise, seemingly identical in that both seems to overlook others blogs in searching.

I use both because there are some posts that google blog search catches but technorati doesn’t and vice versa

for us using multiply technorati seems to do a better job (for now) its indexing happens in a matter of minutes AFTER a post.
