When the iPhone 3G got an upgrade to support MS Exchange, it became a greater threat to enterprise users esp. the Blackberry users. RIM fought back and introduced its first touch screen device — the Blackberry Strom (9530).
That’s despite the fact that back in June 2008, Blackberries were selling more than twice as many as the iPhone 3G. RIM doesn’t want to slack while Apple plays catch-up.

The top feature of Blackberry is the full suite of email connectivity and management — MS Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell GroupWise as well as enterprise email account and personal email accounts — that trumps MobileMe by a mile.

I really like blackbery phones, its just that its not available here in the philippines, correct me if im wrong. i would sell my iphone 3g for this storm.

BlackBerry phones are available here, but they are sold directly through Globe and Smart. Best to ask them. I believe that for personal plans, you need to be on high plans though. For corporate accounts, you can get them on lower plans.

Juneau21: I think some Blackberry phones are sold in one of the stores at Trinoma, that section on the 2nd floor where the computers, Smart wireless center & cd-r king (among others) can be found. I asked about the Blackberry bold & they said they didn’t have it (yet), but that was some months ago. Just thought you should know. =)
There is a store at Park Square 1 (Makati, in front of CD-R King) selling blackberry phones (i saw a Curve Php38k and Bold Php49.5k one time i went there). just cant remember the name of the store. they also sell other brands of smartphones.

hi alan, it’s very hard to look for accessories for it. you may need to order it online in the US, HK or Singapore.
i was browsing the blackberry site and saw there are a couple of CURVE versions (pink, gray, white, etc) and they have different numbers/features…is the pink version (forgot the model number) available in the phils? from what I know, apart from that pink one, only the gray one has wifi…am i right?
i really love the look of it. so, anyway with info bout this pink curve and where i could get it, prices etc, please reply!
