HTC finally announced their own version of the Google Nexus One and calls it the HTC Desire. It’s practically similar in all but a few aspects but the Desire gets its own HTC Sense UI like the one implemented in the Hero.

HTC Desire
Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor
3.7 inches AMOLED touchscreen @ 480 x 800 pixels
576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
up to 16GB on microSD
HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps
Bluetooth 2.1
WiFi 802.11 b/g
5 MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
Stereo FM Radio
GPS with aGPS support
Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair)
Expected to the released on the 2nd quarter of 2010 but price is not yet final. But if ever, I bet it will near Google price on the Nexus One which is $529.

Very nice! The Sense UI is a welcome addition!

I was so excited when this hit my rss reader that I even blogged about it. The reason I am excited is that the target audience includes Asia which means (unlike the N1) the local HTC arm will accept this for standard services. I am pessimistic in that kind of way with gadgets and like to have my phones with me for at least 3-4 years.
ciao!

anything on when will it hit the Philippine market? I’m due for an upgrade.
Got my Desire last week
bought from expansys-usa
you can use the same procedure as with yugatech’s advice on how to buy nexus one, but you don’t need to do the “get a US proxy IP address” work-around.
can anyone teach me how to buy from the states or elsewhere, i’m somewhat new to all of these. Thanks to anyone who replies
try these: they’re locally available

i ordered mine from jtan, hope i get it before the end of the week.
@Pauline
Tipidcp is a very reliable website. Give it a try, contact the person, and ask away.
Also, always check the seller’s feedback from buyers… If it has many and their 100% positive, then most likely they can be trusted.
you can also try ebay.ph for buying online.
