LG also held an online webcast this afternoon to introduce two new Android Froyo 2.2. smartphones — the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic.
The two aren’t really flagship phones but more like entry-level to mid-level Android smartphones.

And since these handsets come pre-installed with Android Froyo 2.2, you’re able to store apps straight into the microSD card so that small amount of internal memory on the unit isn’t a big issue.
The Optimus One and Optimus Chic might not be available locally until December or later and though LG has not indicated the suggested retail price for these smarphones, it could be in the same price range as the first LG Optimus GT540 (which is under ~Php13k).
Its my first android phone and I am a satisfied first time android user. But after seeing HD games I really want to upgrade my gadget to a more faster one.
how much is the optimus Chic?
Its now 50% off for the LG Optimus One P500. 6k+ na lang ang price…yeah!
@MiGz24 Marami ba silang stocks ng optimus one? balak kong bumili. So yung ibang apps pwede sa SD iinstall?
@MiGz24: Congrats! How’s web browsing? Does it support Flash 10.1? Thanks!
Got mine at SM the annex (LG store) Oct31,2010. LG optimus one for 12900.So far its performing well. A great deal instead of buying Xperia X8. :)
yup some apps dont go to sd unless its updated.
with froyo 2.2 and multitouch android beats the hell out of iphone imho.
Android OS running in 600 Mhz processor? This will be a slow one or mediocre at best. Android is quite a heavy OS unlike symbiam that are mobile optimized OS.
Seems LG is in big trouble. New CEO is coming next month. Can’t compete in price and tech war. Another smartphone casualty.
@abe — “you’re able to store apps straight into the microSD card …”
ah.. but there’s a caveat with that.. while it’s true that froyo CAN store apps to the sd card, the app itself has to support it. which means if the app isn’t updated or if it’s an older app, then it still installs in the phone memory.. so memory still counts.. but you’re right, it’s less of a problem..
@brian quiboloy.. let’s get real here, there’s a reason these are cheaper than say the Galaxy S.. If you want the GHz chips, then you need to be willing to pay for them.
@tantra2gadget
apps
customization
upgradability (on some phones mind you)
google (and it’s apps)
sir, multitouch kaya mga to?
nice Abe, thanks for the tip! :)
ayos sana kaya lang 600mhz lang sana mga 1ghtz sya..
would love to have one of these… if the price range is sub 15K then, this is truly affordable.
@tantra2gadge
i believe it’s the apps. users want a similar experience that apple offers and so far, google is the next best thing as far as apps and eye candy are concerned.
What was the advantage of android m0bileph0ne os versus symbian os?M0st people wants andr0id os powered m0bileph0nes this days.
@miguel +1 on that! Was thinking of going for the higher end phones, but since I’m not a “power user” these could just be the phones i’ve been waiting for!
Any word on multitoich capability? Nevertheless, if these phones come out in the sub 15k range they would prove to be very tempting!
These new offerings running on Android Froyo 2.2 makes the new releases by Nokia less appealing. And the low prices are hard to pass up on.
afordable android fones nice…
Entry level at 320×480, that’s more I like it!
