Nokia 5630 XpressMusic

Almost all of the earlier XpressMusic phones from Nokia (except the 5800) were just made for better music playback and nothing more. The Nokia 5630 changes all that and promises to be an NGage gaming unit as well.

nokia 5630

2.2 inches (240×320 pixels)
150 MB shared memory
up to 16GB via microSD (4GB included in package)
ARM 11 600 MHz CPU
3G/HSDPA, 10.2 Mbps
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, autofocus, video, flash
front-facing camera for video calls
Stereo FM radio with RDS
3.5 mm AV jack

It has a fairly fast CPU with the ARM 11 600MHz so it would be interesting how it fairs with the more power-hungry Nokia NGage games. I’m wondering why Nokia didn’t use the same CPU on the Nokia 5800 (which only had 369MHz).

Nokia is adding phone-charging via USB port. Estimated retail price will be $260. I will be in Singapore next week to cover Nokia’s unveiling of several new phone models. It might include this one and a few others.

great specs for a phone. but the design, medyo hindi siya ma-appeal. :)

      Yeah, the screen is small.
I think it is not an ideal gaming fone.
They should make more advance but the Ngage style should stay. I like the N-Gage style before.

If I’m going to change my phone, I’d choose a Nokia XpressMusic phone like this one.

They’ll be releasing the N97. It is a touchscreen phone with qwerty keyboard, it will compete with the Xperia and iPhone etc.

If this is competitively priced, like let’s say below 15k, I’d say this’ll be a hit, much like the 5310. Even though this is S60, has WiFi, etc.

11k? where did you buy it?

How’s the battery life of this EM 5630? I hope it lasts longer than the Nokia6300, with the same screen. Nokia should have made the battery at least 1200 or 1000 maH. With all the power hungry connectivity features of this phone with a 16M color screen, I believe the battery will only last for several hours.

If I will buy this phone (I will surely do!), I will also buy an extra battery with an independent charger. LOL!
