So, I returned back to the Nokia Store after the line has thinned and bought a unit to review. Will need a couple more days to cook up a full review but here are my first impressions and some more unboxing photos of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Update: Read our full Nokia 5800 Review.
What’s inside the box? The Nokia 5800 phone, a stylus (+1 extra), the guitar pick (plectrum, works as a stylus too), charger, microUSB cable, TV out cables, headphone + handsfree, hardshell rubber casing, phone stand, and CD installer.
The presence of the stylus and the guitar pick stresses the need to use them instead of your finger. The phone is a little bulky but feels light for its size and the screen size isn’t as large a real-estate as expected (same as the Xperia X1).
The 5800 is not Nokia’s first full touchscreen phone. They had the Nokia 7710 back in 2003 but was discontinued. Since then, Nokia had 5 years to fix and perfect their touch screen platform and UI so my final review will put some focus on this. Likewise, as a member of the XpressMusic line, the Nokia 5800 is expected to rate high on the multimedia side.
So far, I’m not very impressed (for one, the microUSB port is busted and cannot be detected by the PC). Expect the full review of the Nokia 5800 within the week.
I am planning to buy one on last week of March and I’m just wondering how long the warranty takes for 5800??
mu hubby just bought his N5800 last saturday and so far ,he is satisfied with the phone only that the cd installation software doesnt work in our computer…how can we make it work ?
he bought the blue one,it was pre-loaded with kjwan’s songs and videos but no music voucher..i am also planning to buy N5800 next week..i was actually so excited to get one for me ,but after reading your reviews,i am having second thoughts..but i still might get one after all.

ik ben sinds gisteren in bezit van een nokia 5800 en ik heb er niks anders dan lof over te zeggen.
maar kan iemand mij misschiens helpen met de gps?
zodra ik maps open wordt er gevraagd :’online gaan?’ wnr ik ja duw komt er na een paar secondjes dat dit niet gaat…. iemand een idee ?
en ook als ik positie bepaling doe kan er geen sateliet gevonden worden .
kan iemand mij aub helpen ?

hey! what’s with the 5800′s distorted display once you release the keypad lock?!?!? it’s so annoying!!! i just bought mine a few weeks back! anyone help?
i just hate unlocking and locking my keypad 3 or 4 times to get the screen to work well

wala po ba talaga warranty ang lcd dito sa pinas? bakit ganun? para kasing nagiiba ung brightness ng lcd pag nanunuod ako ng video…
i only have a problem with the gps and bluetooth… sometimes i need to retry transfering files using bluetooth for them to be transfered… i cannot use the gps…
i want to no real price of this money??
