Sony-Ericsson Xperia X8 becomes official

So we already seen the Xperia X10 and the Xperia X10 Mini but the Sony-Ericsson Xperia X8 that’s just been announced seems like it’s positioned somewhere in between the two.

3.0″ display @ 320×480 pixels
128 MB internal memory
up to 16GB via microSD (2GB included)
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1
3.15MP camera
Stereo FM radio with RDS
GPS w/ A-GPS support
Li-Po 1200 mAh

Comes pre-installed with Android 1.6 but like the other Android Xperia, it should be ready for v2.1 by 3rd quarter as well. The processor is slower compared to the X10 at 600MHz.

Sony Ericsson, please make your smartphones’ screen multi-touch capabled. Since Samsung’s ENTRY LEVEL Androids have these feature, maybe you should also add this to your future phones. Or else maybe the potential buyers might just purchase other Androids. :D

@Andrew, the expected release date according to SE PH’s facebook page is within this month of September.

@prosopagnosia, you could try searching gsmarena.com and compare the Wildfire with the X8 side by side.

@prosopagnosia x8 would be better than HTC wilfdire. Wildfire has many flaws and since its screen resolution is only 320×240 it cant handle good games. Virtual keyboeard is not responsive like the other HTC phones. This will come to the Philippines on September and cheaper than wildfire which is priced at 15,500php

@prosopagnosia This would easily beat HTC wilfdire. I’m close at buying wildfire when I saw this. Wildfire has many flaws and since its screen resolution is only 320×240 it cant handle good games. Bad sound quality and the virtual keyboeard is not responsive like the other HTC phones. And even it has 5mp camera the image quality is not great but good. This will come to the Philippines on September and cheaper than wildfire which is priced at 15,500php

Is the overall size (not just the screen) smaller than the X10? It looks like they just shrunk the screen off the the X10’s body. Lots of wasted space IMO.
