TwitterPeek: A gadget dedicated to Twitter

The guys behind Twitter thinks their service will become so mainstream that people will be willing to buy a gadget specific to just “tweeting”. That’s how TwitterPeek was conceived.

This mobile device is a collaboration between Twitter Inc. and Peek Inc., thus the name. Imagine a Blackberry phone and service just for Twitter.

So what can it do? Well, it can do everything you can do on a desktop Twitter client (e.g. TweetDeck) but all embedded into a wireless device as shown above.

How much? The TwitterPeek sells for $99 with a $7.95 monthly fee or $199 with a lifetime of service.

That means it will be tied up with a telco. Don’t think this will be a hit in the Philippine where data charges are still expensive. The cheapest unlimited rate on Twitter is Php20/day or Php600/month using Globe Super Surf {via WSJ}.

If you already have a smart phone, why need another gadget that all can do is to tweet? I mean, bibili ka ba ng stuffed toy na cute if you already have a real alive dog na cute din?

I say its a waste of money time and effort to make this device eventually it will end up like the ATT device they made almost 4 or 5 years ago when it was allowing you to be on aim and yahoo and check your emails for i think about 25 dollars a month, not worth it at all actually you couldn’t browse the net or upload or dowlnload pictures pointless…

      Waste…

I think the philippine market is not a good place for this. it’s expensive and i think filipinos won’t really spend money for this device knowing it’s sole purpose.

I can see celebs using these in the future, but to regular citizens, nahh. 9k for this device just to twit? Berkano said it all. Yung 7610 nga eh may sariling “TweetDeck-like” app. That phone would only cost you less than half of that useless twitter junk

@roseee siguro cool dun sa madalas maholdup-an ng phone. Because such criminals won’t be able to use nor sell this even at bargain price. Baka piliin pa nilang holdup-in yung may 5110 kesa sa owner nito.
