HP Mini 1000 drops Via for Atom?

HP is introducing a new line of netbooks as an update to its Mininote 2133. This time the HP Mini Note 1000 drops the sluggish Via processor for an Intel Atom CPU.

Spotted on the homepage of the HP Shopping site, the Mini 1000 will start at $399.99 for the basic specs.

Will get it right this time? The Mininote 2133 has had a lot of negative reviews for its slow processor, heat dissipation and relative weight. The Mini 1000 will be lighter (about 2.25lbs) and thinner (les than 1 inch). Moving to Intel is a smart move as people are already regarding the Atom CPU as a standard. HP, however, dropped the screen resolution from 1280Ã—768 pixels to 1024×600.

HP also featured a Vivienne Tam Edition in a recent fashion show sporting a flowery red design that costs $700 {via}.

got it.. I got This HP mininote TU1001 here in singapore. the best as said, other brands sucks because you wont be able to watch a single movie, but in HP u can run 2 movies at same time with intel atom power, 1 gig ram will do. XPhome OS and 60gig HDD. get a unit now. got it for 699 SGD(singapore $) 21,800PhP.

hmmm….. HP is world leader in laptop design and performance…. For me their HP mini notes is a leap forward in netbook performance……

For me the HP Mini Note are better compared to the EEEPC from ASUS (dont like the deisgn and perforance of EEEPC)

If I would buy a netbook someday HP’s mini note is on top of my list!

does anyone know how much an 80gb/120gb or 160gb 1.8 inch hard disk cost? cause im planning if i buy mini 1000, going to replace the hard disk and im waiting for the 6 cell, even if it bulges underneath

bibili ulit sana ako kaya lang nag-drop yung screen resolution, never mind. i’ll stick to my ASUS EEE PC although I am considering another netbook to have a spare for my robotic arm project
