Acer Aspire One 721 unboxed

Listen to article

So we finally got one of the new Aspire One running AMD’s Athlon II Neo K125. The Acer Aspire One 721 is an 11.6-inch ultraportable that sits between the AO751 and the Timeline 1801tz.

The Aspire One 721 runs on a single-core Athlon II Neo CPU running at 1.7GHz. Graphics is powered by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 with 336MB dedicated memory.

Display size is 11.6″ with a resolution of 1366×768 pxiels. Storage is provided by a 250GB Hitachi HDD with 2GB of single-channel DDR3 RAM.

The unit is really thin, light and similar to the form-factor of the earlier Aspire One 751 with a brushed metal finish on the palm rest and a textured lid cover.

There are 3 USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI port as well. The stock battery is a 6-cell 4400mAh Li-Ion (not the 5600mAh that’s on the AO751 and 1801tz). It’s got WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, a Gigabit LAN but no built-in Bluetooth.

The Acer Aspire One 751 comes pre-installed with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Basic and has a suggested retail price of Php24,900. You can see the Windows Experience Index here compared with the two others.

Oo nga, unexpected naman yung comment ng Mon na yan.Hindi na nga related sa topic, nanira pa. tsk tsk. Abe, I think you better do something about this. Your site is not a “bashing-ground” but a venue about cutting-edge technology. :)
About the post – nice ang looks nito sir, together with the specs. I’m really curious if this would go far as far as battery life is concerned. Chka heat problems kaya, kamusta naman? I’ve heard Acer is notorious with heating probs (I owned a Acer before, and I can attest to that). Update us Abe. :D

@MON KUTO “GM” Tristan a.k.a Net POLICE:

Geeeze! Long live the haters! While yer at it, why not do us a favor Mr. Net Police “GM” and clean yer own act before criticizing, like duh am sure these pix here ain’t yers to re-post:

http://gmtristan.com/girls/

Then, only after you’ve come into terms and sorted out yer sick fetish with girls (from an obviously non existent s-E-x life haha) perhaps you’ll get the honor of cleaning up the net, millions of plagiarizers cut from the same cloth you came from.

Yer a real SCUMBAG Mon Kuto, yer “GM” title did little to establish the quality and so-called decency of the life yer livin’.

Hi Abe,

Would it be possible for you to use a larger aperture setting on your camera so as to get the whole laptop in your focus area? (unless, of course, you’re really going for the short depth of field in your shots a-la portraits.. I realize you’re a budding camera hobbyist).

Don’t get me wrong please, I appreciate shot artistry, but being a tech blog, a lot of visitors I think would appreciate seeing the whole “gadget” in sharp focus instead of just the ports. (nice as it may look)

that is a really really thin netbook. the copper colored covers it a change from the usual, black, white, red, blue color. :)
