Asrock Nettop with NVidia Ion and Bluray

Looks like Asrock also made their own nettop and it’s souped up with an NVidia Ion graphics with an optional Blu-ray drive.

The form factor is similar to a Mac Mini though I think it’s much closer to the HDX1000 NMT player (see here).

The Asrock Ion 330 specs:

Intel Atom 330 Dual Core @1.66GHz
Nvidia ION Graphics
2GB DDR2 800 MHz (max 4GB)
NVidia ION Graphics Full HD 1080p
320GB SATA HDD
24X DVD Super Multi or Bluray
HDMI port
D-Sub VGA
6 x USB 2.0
S/PDIF (Optical)
Gigabit LAN
HD Audio 5.1 Channel
Windows Vista 32-bit & 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit & 64-bit

Nvidia Ion is basically NVidia GeForce 9400M GPU with Intel Atom CPU. One seller at TipidPC is selling these locally at the following prices:

Asrock Ion 330: Php19,950 (with DVD+RW)
Asrock Ion 330 BD: Php25,950 (with Blu-ray)

Optional upgrade to 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM is Php3,000 (neat!). The Acer Aspire Revo nettop has an almost similar configuration (2GB RAM, 250GB HDD) and sells for Php17,892 at Villman (no DVD+RW or Bluray options).

Just wondering when the Ion will be available on netbooks? ehehe

oo nga what’s without the wifi? or hindi lang nalista? why can’t they put slot-loading DVD drives for cool things such as these?

    65watts power consumption… SWEET!

Too bad all the jacks are positioned too closely at the rear. Investing in a good USB hub is really recommended.

I wonder how far will the gfx processor let me play slightly retro games (current MMOS and 2-9yr old games)

’slightly retro games’? Come on, what IS that? Do you even know what comes out on your screen whenever you type?
