Deep Blue H1 price drops to Php9,995

Blue Digital Systems listened to my advise and dropped their Blue H1 netbook to just Php9,995 this week. Now that’s a good bargain there.

Got a text message the other day telling me they’ve followed my advise and offered the new price. It’s a good move to separate them off the huge line of new netbooks that came out this year. The Php9,995 price tag has Linux OS installed (Php11,495 with Windows XP Home).

Deep Blue H1

In a way, they’re trying to take on the label as the cheapest netbook ever. Priced competitively, the Deep Blue H1 is positioned as an alternative option on your next mobile phone purchase. It’s already as affordable as any mid-class phones out there.

See our 7-inch round-up here and the review here.

Note: The basic configuration includes a Via C7M 1.0 GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 40GB of HDD, a webcam, WiFi, card reader with up to 4 hours of battery life.

    great bargain indeed.

will the other players follow suit?

Here’s my advise to Blue Digital Systems.

    Netbook:
    Via Nano U2500
    VIA VX800
    8.9″ 1024×600 backlit LCD
    1-2gb RAM
    40-60gb HDD
    4-6 cell battery
    open source friendly WiFi antenna
    + essentials (2-3 USB, multi-card reader, 10/100/1000 ethernet, etc)

They can use Via’s openbook reference design minus the crappy looking dual-headed camera.

If you are online, please give a quick reply as to where this is offered at ~10k. I would like to get one before stocks(if ever) run out. The eee 701 series are out of stock now for the 2g models so im searching for an alternative in the same price range. It would be used in school activities only. If you have a number it would be better and if the area is in makati or mall of asia. Thanks! I’m an avid reader of youyr blog.

    @Ron

I still don’t have time this week to head to vilmore, but I’ve seen the ad here and I’ll try contacting them. Will probably have one by next week. I’ll post my experience. I’m planning to install XP Black Edition on it and see if it does perform well.

hi guys, just jot me one of these. and i absolutely love it. super handy, long battery life (lives up as published 4.5 hrs). love the performance. If you just need a laptop for office or school use this is the one for you. using an open office and linpus OS is not as popular as xp but truly works. also love the built in player. plays a lot of codecs can even read mkv, avi, ogg files. perfect for someone who is always on the go, like me :)
