Question is — would people go for the standard laptop size that carries a slow CPU?

NO way yuggie! i'd rather basket a Core2Duo / a Centrino., whatever.

Dell's desperate.

Your typical low priced 12" weighs in at 4-4.5 lbs. It is not as light as it sounds when you have been carrying one around for a bit.

This thing comes in under 3 lbs. It is a nice low cost alternative to a Dell Latitude D430 or Lenovo X200.

12" is ok with me even with Intel Atom. i don't really need to do resource-extensive tasks in laptops. i'd rather go for portability (thin and light).

If I'll buy this laptop, I'm reconsider first because as you said yuga, "would people go for the standard laptop size that carries a slow CPU?" I'll rather buy a laptop or a second hand Dell laptop.
