DivX to sVCD convertion tool

Been looking for a good DivX to VCD/sVCD convertion tool for hours now but could not find anything remotely close. I am about to burn some 2 dozen episodes of Smallville, season 4 on CDs for a friend. She wanted to watch it on a DVD player so burning the DivX files right to the CD won’t cut it.

I have Nero Burning Rom installed and tried using its built-in VCD creation feature but it could not decode the files.

Tried Google already but I’m going in circles already. Anyone have an idea or has tried any Divx to VCD convertion tool. I hope the 45 minute episode (350+MB each) can still fit into one VCD when converted.

SVCD is basically just authored MPEG. The same is true with DVD. Check out http://www.videohelp.com. Conversion isn’t as easy as it should be. There are many ways to do the conversion, and a lot of software you can use. There are software out there that will do everything for you.

Yeah, I am also interested on tools that can convert divx/xvid video formats into the more decompressed files. You see, I am still using my 500Mhz AMD K6-2 PC (I know, its too old); thus, it can no longer play the xvid movies. Can anyone help? c”,?

I did that the same thing on an old PII box a few years ago for one week converting 13 episodes of Lain Serial experiments. But then, it was plain VCD.

The videohelp site should have the answers. Don’t remember the entire process, but it involved tools such as virtualdub, and the always excellent TMPGENC. Topnotch quality, kahit na VCD. Customizable, infinitely bigger resolution than commercially available VCD’s.
