Lenovo launches Core i3 ThinkPad Edge 11

Listen to article

Another thin and light ultraportable, the ThinkPad Edge 11, was launched yesterday by Lenovo Philippines during the awarding ceremonies for the Quest for Oldest ThinkPad at the Digital Alley in Greenbelt 3.

We reviewed the 13-inch equivalent (ThinkPad Edge 13) back in September. The ThinkPad Edge 11 is the smaller, lighter (3.3lbs) version similar to the X100e.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11″ specs:
11.6″ display @ 1366×768 pixels
Intel Core i5 380UM @ 1.33GHz
2GB DDR3 RAM
320GB SATA HDD 7200rpm
Intel HD Graphics
WiFi 802.11n
Bluetooth 2.1
Gigabit LAN
3 x USB 2.0 ports
HDMI port
4/6/9-cell Li-Ion battery
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Optional features include 3G or WiMax connectivity. The ThinkPad Edge 11 will be available in Lenovo-affiliated stores by the 3rd week of December with a starting price of Php35,000.

I have no problem with my Lenovo’s trackpad. I don’t know why some people are complaining about theirs. So far my Z460 hasn’t given me anything to complain about. :)

Lenovo laptops are very durable, i have a three year old Lenovo G400 and it still has no problems. I had an HP DV2000 before which died after one year.

Then came the Asus K42j. After reading review after review of Asus fans, i decided to buy the laptop. Then to my dismay, after only a week it already started showing signs of poor quality. Inaccurate Display color, flimsy usb ports, slow hdd, boot-up failures, keyboard always on Numlock, blue screen of death, system freezes, and a lot more.

Too bad, i fell for the features and specs. Anyway, I plan to sell this to Asus fans after i save up for a much durable Lenovo laptop.

@Paul

That’s a nice one, but I love the thinkpad build and trackpoint. I’ll just wait for an 11″ edge with AMD innards. Should be cheaper than the intel version. :)

@McSalamanca

It’s not under the Thinkpad brand but there is a similarly-sized 11-inch Ideapad with AMD processors out in the market.

I own a T410 and this looks sexy. The Thinkpad is a tough laptop, good thing it is getting a major facelift in the new models which looks better “eye candy wise”.
