The Intel Core i7-2630QM processor runs at a base clock of 2.0GHz and boosts to 2.9GHz with 4 cores and 8 threads. It also comes with an integrated Intel HD Graphics.
Laptop comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 8GB) and 500GB HDD. Other specs include an eSATA port, USB ports, HDMI port, WiFi, Bluetooth, DVD+RW and the whole shebang.

Had it for a year and four months already. It’s not the best computer in the market, but can do the jobs we require. I would only suggest this computer if you’ve got a tight budget and don’t want to end up with something slow or lacking hard disk drive capacity. Otherwise, spend a few thousand pesos more on something more capable in terms of better graphics and build quality as it will be rewarding in the long run.

I just bought the B5700 today for 25K flat with Win7 starter. I had my netbook in tow ‘coz I thought I’d give it a shot. Guess what? No need to trade in shit and I didnt have to go to the North. I bought it in parksquare. Since, I have a WIN7 Ultimate, the seller told me he’d exchange it for a sleeve and upgade to 4GB…note the diff bet the B5700 and the B702 – diff of 10k in price and yet the other one is 2GB and the latter is 4GB and of course the 500 vs 600+ HDD. Still a good deal! I was a bit hesitant ‘coz of the brand ’til 2 of my techie friends approved, one of them used a Neo netbook. (We do tech support at a call center). BTW, performance: installed WIN7 Ultimate same time 1 ciggy was finished; the drivers were installed at the start of dinner and finished at the end of the meal; my dongle feels like I’m running DSL. Happy 13th month shopping guys!

We still have an oldie 6+ year old neo (clevo). And the neo gamebook which my bro is still using would be 3 years.
In comparison, my well loved gateway is not even 2 years old ang dami nang time na ayaw mag on.

maganda itong unit na ito ng NEO,,,i have this with 8gb ram configutaion(4gb X 2), w7 ultimate x64bit n pack it with coolermaster ergostand and some accesories like a4tech wireless kb n mice…not good for the gamer but really realiable in terms of multitasking and very affordable 4 its price. at hindi masakit sa bulsa kapag may lumabas na namang bagong unit ng mga lappy in the market…
I actually own one. Its been 3 months. So far so good. As a Web Designer and Online gamer, I have no problem so far. This one can play Starcraft II and RF Online(MMORPG) with no lag at all. By far, I would say, I have no regret buying this. So, that’s my review as an owner of NEO Basic B5700N

There was no problem with the processor, only the Serial-ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices such as hard disk drives and DVD-drives. This issue does not affect the processor but only affects the supporting chipsets. The revised B3 6Series Chipset is the fixed good working condition sandy bridge chipset. You can check the chipset by going to System Devices in the Device Manager. And the Neo Basic B5700N has the deffective 6series chipset recalled by intel months ago. You can check it out for yourselves in the atores where Neo Basic B5700N is available.

I think the price is damn good for the specs. I mean, you can’t buy a powerful laptop with a decent gaming card for 30k or less. Intel 3000 is enough for Full HD movies, most MMORPGs and some games in low settings. You don’t plan to play crysis with this, do you?
This laptop is clearly for those who need more processing power than better graphics. This is great as a mobile virtualization rig. Just upgrade the RAM to 8GB (DDR3 is dirt cheap nowadays) and a faster hard drive and you have a powerful portable machine where you can run a test lab for software development or network/server infrastructure. =)
You are right. Was looking for something like this a laptop with a nice processor and a cheap gpu. I don’t play many(any?) games on the pc and mostly program for fun. This is a somewhat perfect (for the price point) laptop for me!
i purchased this new laptop just a month ago, and its doing well for my video editing projects!!!

my aunt has a neo laptop it still runs but the battery has pass it charge cycle. The drivers where wrong an XP driver used in a vista and heats up like a toaster.
I wont enjoy this laptop even though it got this kind of hardware if after 3 mos, the HINGES are loose and/or broken already.

I won’t bite for it, as a previous Neo user my laptop gave away in less than a year, battery less than 10 mins and the CUSTOMOER SERVICE SUCKS. I requested a repair for the speakers and it took 1 MONTH plus when I got it back its was FULL OF SCRATCHES. I was so mad I rant in the store because the argued that it will take another 2 weeks to replace the body.
Ever since then we never even tried to repair the laptop and just let it run on sockets to be a dead battery laptop.
Well for the price point all I can say is…i7 is not all that its just 35% of what is the best. If people buys this laptop because its cheap and i7, I bet entry level i3 or i5 sandy bridge with good graphics card can beat this featured Neo laptop in overall usability.
I used to have a Neo laptop before. It only lasts for about a year then after that, boom, the battery is just for 10mins. Flickering LCD, overheating, and has the WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
The drivers are Beta Versions. They can’t even provide driver downloads on their site.
I will never get this brand even if it’s just 10k range for an i7 processor. -_-

Check NEO’s Official Facebook Page and you will see a lot of comments about this model since it might still be using the old SandyBridge Chipset that Intel recalled.
gee they shouldnt be doing that. even if it’s using the first batch of sandy bridge, intel gave a directive for laptop manufacturer to recall or replace those machines with the newer version.
there were some costumers who ask Neo for a software to check what version of the chipset was on the laptop that they purchased and they were advised be Neo to ask Google instead.
They cant provide an official application to check the chipset that was on there laptop. Bummer.

Great for users running multiple VMs. Just stick 6gb more of RAM and you’re set to go.
All that quad-core power will not be fully utilized because of the underperforming gpu. i7’s & any quad-core’s are supposed to be paired with dedicated graphics to fully use their power.
Likewise, quad-core pc’s/notebooks are designed for applications requiring graphics intensive apps & games. Since when did browsing, email, word processing need 4 cores?
This is what irks me with manufacturers pairing high-end cpu’s with low-end gpu’s.
I normally have 10 IE windows.. all of them running a java webapp (ok some of them are running facebook and other non-work sites)… 3 VMs running at the same time… throw in multiple word and excel windows..
Thats a normal work day for me… im not gaming and yet i think i would GREATLY benefit from a quad core system…
The kind of application you are running dictates whether or not it needs a single core or multiple cores. A database application can fully utilize the power of multi core processors without having to need a wicked GPU.
Actually, that CPU model has an integrated GPU built into itself. It performs decently with most mainstream games.
The main reason, for me, regarding cores is not whether you are just using the internet or editing movies, It’s due to a fact that if a processor goes beyond 4 GHZ clock speed, it will need more power and cooling. So to achieve greater performance without sacrificing power and cooling, they invented cores.
I don’t think the RAM nor heat management is the real concern here. They’re manageable. It’s the battery life. Imagine you have these specs but you can run it for only 2 hours. That sucks.
Base on my experience neo has problem with their battery.
My friend’s NEO couldn’t even shut down before its battery ran out.

I would have have to agree with numlock and doc harry. Theres always a drawback with those kind of low prize laptop.its much better to save a little more money then buy a higher end. just my 2 cents. :) You get what you pay for, right?:)

Got mine in 2011, still up and running, havent had any problem except battery, overall it gets the job done… Im still using it until now
