Neo V1195 and B1230 NetBooks

Filipino laptop manufacturer Neo has been doing quite a number of netbooks for sometime now but these two has a couple of interesting specs worth looking into.

The Neo B1230 Travel Choice NetBook has specs that are pretty common (Intel Atom N270, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD) except that it features a 4-cell Lithium Polymer battery, the same type of battery the new Asus Eee PC 1008HA has.

The retail price of Php20,995 doesn’t really make it look too attractive.

On the other hand, Neo V1195 PowerSum NetBook is proving to be priced competitively for the specs it offers. That includes an Intel Atom N280, 10.2” screen, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 320GB HDD, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi 802.11b/g, 6-cell battery and pre-installed with Windows XP Home.

For a price of Php21,995 that’s a good deal. Of course, you also get to pick your color.

Of course the NEO V1195 is a good deal. It’s only 22mm form factor which makes it one of the slimmest netbook in the market.

The V1195 is the better deal for sure. I’m still uncomfortable with the NEO brand though.

are they really filipino made? i thought they were originally known as clevo, then rebranded as neo? can anyone confirm this?

i don’t trust neo anymore! and i hated the brand even more!!! yung mga laptops nila galing sa iba iba ang parts kaya kapag nasira let’s say yung lcd+bat etc all the prices combined mas mahal ng doble sa original price eh sangkatutak ang service centers!! tangkilikin daw ang gawa sa atin basta wag lang ang Neo!! you’ll just regret it in the end!!!

abe, Neo B1230 is around Php17,990(if im not mistaken) at PC Corner. maybe your price is a card price, and theirs is cash.

i have asked people about it, and all i get was a not-so-pleasant reply. it gets alarmingly hot at the bottom and the service accotrdingly sucks.

what i noticed about Neo B1230 is that the plastic casing is very sturdy. probably the sturdiest among netbooks.

At least twice a week nio lng i-charge ung battery for long battery-life.

thanks i need some of ur opinion.

how long is the battery life of the neo v1195? i have been using a different model neo laptop for almost 2 years and it only last about 45 mins.the sales agent from silicon valley told me that even if the laptops are similarly 6-cell, their battery life varies.he recommends the asus eepc 1005-ha because its advance technology allows it to have a longer battery life but it cost 5t more than the v1195.need help, pls reply.tnx.

i have 2 neos, one bought 2006, di ko nga alam ang model, never been to any service for 4 years (knock on wood), sobrang tibay, na biak na lang ang casing, andar pa rin, battery already dead since 2008, but i know all laptops will have a dead battery after 2 years, am charging it before even 3 times a day as in continuous use. minsan ngayon naga hang but not hardware problem, kc memory nya harddisk ay nsa 500 mb na lang out of 40 gb. 560 lang ang ram

so i bought neo v 1195 from asianic sm davao, 7 mons na, k naman.

tama umiinit, but laptops netbooks lahat umiinit, just buy a cheap cooler, also no one can predict a battery life, not a sales agent, not even the manufacturer because iba iba naman talaga ang gamit ng ibat ibang tao,
just take care of your unit.

also, charge only empty batteries, not half empty, use up battery first, before charging

Hi, I was reading the blogs here and I would like to tell everyone that I have the white NEOv1195 which I got like since September 2009… NEOKO the GREAT – Thinking aloud
