I agree, a laptop is better than a netbook. The screen is bigger, performance and functionality you can more from a laptop.

a recent survey show that ACER aspire outsale all leading loptop manufacturer..including ASUS..I had a bad reputation with ASUS..the keyboard is suck and a lot of consumer complaint about it..I’am planing to buy ACER aspire 4730z with upgradable to 4gig ram and install 32bit vista..i’am planing also to install VMWARE to make virtual os with ubuntu..i know it is possible but my question is…can I make it with OS X?? runing under Vista?

lezuric, there is a good Compaq and Acer laptop with AMD processor and chipset also below 30,000. For me, last March, I got a Lenovo G410 for just 23,000. intel dual core 1.73, 1gb ddr2, 160gb hd, dvd-writer, 14.1 monitor. just no webcam, anyways i’m not fond of using webcam and the store gave me a webcam for free.

yes, the price may fit on the netbook range, but how the netbook is qualified isn’t just the price but the compact, lightweight, and smaller screen(at most 10inches).

@Jamby – Multi-touch is not that required, performance is what we need to look to dude.

I don’t even consider netbooks that’s more than 20k. Netbooks have smaller screens and they can’t give you the gaming experience compared to regular laptops.

That’s why I have a regular laptop (already 2 years old) and an ASTONE UMPC (almsost six months 10k only).

Yeah, but its definitely faster than Atom and more functional than netbooks.
Good timing to post it Sir Abe, my sister is planning to get a laptop but her budget are just 30K. I think the Compaq will be the one.
