The forgotten Gateway LT1001i Netbook

Listen to article

The Gateway LT1001i netbook has been out in store shelves for months now but has never been given a formal introduction. It’s probably because this 9″ netbook is a late entrant and has been overshadowed by Acer who now also happens to own the brand.

Besides, at its current price point, it won’t be a threat to the rest of the players currently sold in the local market. It even followed that embedded 512MB RAM on board like the older Acer Aspire One.

gateway lt1001

Gateway LT1001i
Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
8.9″ WSVGA screen
1GB DDR2 (512MB on-board + 1x512MB module)

Mobile 945GSE Express Chipset
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g

Multi-in-One Card Reader
Battery: 6 Cell Battery
Windows XP Home

Retails for Php21,396 (at VillMan). A similarly-speced 9″ Acer Aspire One costs Php18k at PC Corner.

hhhmmmm i’ve been using gateway for almost 3 years now … kami ng mga anak ko lahat kami gateway gamit nmn. Marami n rin ako nagamit n laptop in my field of work pero for my personal reason. medyo angat ang gateway, lalo n ko rugged type, so far nmn ung laptop ko (gateway T1616) kahit puro gasgas na ok p rin. Compare sa dating laptop ko na HP nr2315. Kulang lang talaga sa bihis ang style ng gateway pero sa durability ok sya.

8.9″ netbook’s fine with me. that’s why i chose the eee pc 900HA. much more portable than those 10 inchers. anyway, both screens have same resolution (1024×600) so you won’t miss much… unless you have really lousy eyesight. ;)

i like the style, but i do agree that maybe this one was washed over by a huge number of netbooks out there, especially from Acer :D :D

Perhaps it is just being swallowed by the myriad of netbook offerings nowadays.
