I am a hardcore raider, and I can tell you no amount of game gold or real money will get you into the end-game content. True gold will help you enjoy the game a little more, but if you wanna see those bosses on you own computer screen, it takes determination and skill…and of course a guild who has the same goals you do. I am in Black Temple and Mount Hyjal but i just got my epic flying mount this week. And i am sitting in the gear I oogled about only months before, and no amount of wow gold can buy them!!

.. but I guess having vast amounts of resources (gold) to ‘nurture’ your character(s) over time (which is relatively shorter to those with only 2gp on their purses) is verry very tempting to other players, especially those with real money to burn. In fairness, not everyone does it.
