A Philippine-based company called Xitrix has assembled their own netbook and the specs are a bit souped up. Check out the photos and specs after the jump.

The 6-cell model without the 3G module has a regular price of Php22,995 while the one with the 3G is about Php27k. Xitrix has been dealing with companies and SMEs before and only now that they are introducing their products to regular consumers.

Have tested a Xitrix netbook while looking for a laptop last week… I must say that it is pretty good for its category except for the graphics chipset. The only thing that my friend was hesitant about buying it was it’s unfamiliar brand name. We were under the impression that the brand name was another computing company from China.
I hope you sir yuga can tell more about the Xitrix company. A little info would be very much appreciated since this unit is pretty much attractive to low end users…
Interestingly, this thing comes with Windows 7, albeit the starter edition…

Really wish they beefed up the GPU. The starter edition is really fine if you plan on achieving a longer battery life. Hope their next setup would replace that Intel GMA 950 with a 4500HD or an Ion.
IIRC Xitrix was one of MS partners during the Windows7 promotion in the philippines.
Hm…looks interesting with the 4,000 peso discount. Without it though, it might be too much for its brand name.
specs are not bad, price is pretty good, graphics a little outdated..

the specs are sweet plus a very nice price tag. BTW, Xitrix is a real Filipino computer company??? Cool!!!
Hopefully, more goodies will come out from this company and that their machines would be at par with the more well-known brands.
You know, if you get the exact same netbook, and slap a name-brand on it, like HP, or Acer, people would not be hesitant to purchase it or would not need to wait for reviews first.

looks class for me. but what they say, it needs mor description about d brand… but for specs of a notebook. its ok… graphics typical for a notebook. not intended for gaming
It’s true that people are wary of new brands, and these have to prove themselves first. But perhaps it may be true also that most are wary of this because it is a “local” brand, and something must be wrong with that line of thought.
However, a review would be a great help.IMO.
I wish the os installed is citrix.

Talked to the sales rep of Xitrix that day and she told me they’ve been doing business providing PC products to big corporations like Air Philippines, Ayala, DOE, DTI and Toyota, among others.
It’s only recently that they are entering the consumer market. I guess as a business, they are already tested. Just that they are not familiar among regular consumers.
a unit with a 3g modem costs around 26k. Talo tayo sa processor but with the other specs? good na, considering it’s their first notebook.
another local brand NEO is a good one too.
True may ganong thinking na “Ay Local yan.. Walang kwenta..” which is you know, saddening. But what is more saddening is the fact that those local manufacturers insist on developing mediocre products despite of the popular notion ng “local”. I hate the thing that happened with Neo.
I’ve encountered this brand before (back when I was working for the government). At that time, I was also surprised about the company so I did some background research (they eventually won our bidding for equipment) and their customers then, were mostly large corporations and government agencies.
Very competitive in terms price/featuress.
They had excellent customer service and technical support. I wish that is still true today.
