Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens

After mulling over that busted Canon EF 17-85mm lens, I thought it might be a sign to go buy a new walk-around lens (perhaps an L lens) but I ended up getting a macro lens instead (Canon EF 100mm).

Was having a hard time at first choosing between the 50mm, 60mm and the 100mm macro but for the extra distance the latter provides, I thought it was the best choice.

Besides, once you shift to a full frame camera like the Canon 5D Mark II, you can still use the 100mm. Here are some quick shots I took from our Bohol trip yesterday.

These were taken without a tripod so camera shake was inevitable.

So, it’s true what they say that “getting into macro takes you to a whole new world of photography”.
