Digital Photography Basics

I the last months that I’ve been using my Digital Canon Ixus 30, I may have influenced about half a dozen other people to buy the same camera. (Had it been thru Amazon, I could have gotten a couple hundred bucks!)

And like everybody else who are new to using a digical camera, or any camera for that matter, the technical aspects of using the camera to its fullest potential (and eventually being able to take brilliant pictures) can be quite a bit confusing to a regular user. For one thing, they all don’t want to read the manual that comes with it. And thus, I get the same old questions such as aperture, focal point, exposure, stitching, etc.

I’d like to point them to some sites or blog that could help them learn the basics and some other common tricks but I really haven’t found one (or again, I’m just too lazy to look for them as well). I used to send them over at Litratista.org for some inspiration or quick tips but they tell me that it’s too techy for them.

If you know of any other sites or blogs that cater to these kind of audience, please do leave a link or two. :)

Oo nga pala, here are the suggestions, though these links aren’t really for the digicam enthusiast; these are for those who’re interested in toy camera photography, and those into what’s popularly known as Lomography, or Lomo cameras:

ToyKameraPilipinas Yahoogroup: Toy, plastic cameras? Vintage Russian cameras (rangefinders, SLR’s)? If you want fun, film photography for cheap, join this group. We have resident professional photographers to help you.

Ahem, and for today’s shameful plug (since people have been forever pestering me about Lomo cameras): myFotoFAQ
