Chicken Inasal

A pride of the Illonggo delicacy, the inasal nga manok (grilled chicken) is an all-time favorite.

inasal

The pecho (thigh) is the only chicken part I really enjoyed eating but most people prefer the paa (leg) because it is juicier. Chicken inasal is best enjoyed with sinamak, aged palm vinegar with ginger, onion, garlic, and lots of sili.

The closest one can get a bite of it here in Manila is with Bacolod Chicken Inasal which has at leats 8 branches spread across the metro. Don’t forget to ask for chicken oil as well!

Tatoy’s Manukan is simply the best sa lahat in Iloilo. Been years di ako nakakain dun (June 2003 pa last time).

You guys have to try that one if ever you visit Iloilo! And batchoy too! ;)

Nice picture Yuga. For most Bacolodnons, it’s almost like a mortal sin if you don’t bring your guests somewhere to have a taste of chicken inasal. Joel Torre serves Bacolod inasal somewhere in Manila and I heard it is quite successful.

I have heard the term “inasal”, as well as “inato”, and wondered if these were somehow related. Both have been used in conjunction with chicken, so I assume there is a relationship of some sort.

By the way, do you have a native Filipino dish that is similar to barbeque chicken? The inasal above looks as if it could be close.

I have been a chef all my life and with all honesty, preparing chicken the way the people in Bacolod Chicken Inasal does, id would have to say it’s world-class… truly impressive. I could be in a cruise to the carribean islands or in the kitchen of one of the most famous restaurant in Paris, but still nothing beats the sumptuous chicken recipe of Bacolod Chicken Inasal… It’s something that would long linger in your mouth after having one. That kind of feeling where you seem you can’t get enough… Even describing the whole feeling of having to taste one makes me hungry :) Don’t just trust me with this one.. you really have to taste it, in a heart-beat i know you’d get hooked as well. They have branches at malls like Glorietta and Robinsons Place Manila, even near Bel Air at Jupiter Street Makati.. just to name a few. It’s almost the Christmas Season, you have every reason to enjoy all the finest things in life… You can start that by bringing your family to the nearest Bacolod Chicken Inasal.. after that, I’m pretty sure you’d come back.. hungry for more… Enjoy :)

Most probably the “chicken inasal” recipe of Bacolod Chicken Inasal doesn’t just come with the literal ingredients and secret spices… It prolly takes passion and dedication to perfect that masterpiece. Something that would only be thought of by someone who wants to bring the “authenticity of the original inasal na manok” to every dinner table of every Pinoy (more specifically those that are not near Bacolod or Iloilo). It was probably a long-time dream, that is now slowly becoming a reality. Imagine the comfort of having to enjoy an “inasal na manok” right there on your own dinner table… or being served by polite waiters or waitresses at your favorite mall (glorietta for example). Life is simple and short, that’s why we should enjoy every second of it to the fullest,so from the bottom of my heart i would like to thank Bacolod Chicken Inasal for making life easier and sweeter.. Thanx for bringing us closer to the pride of “Bacolod/Iloilo”….the chicken inasal :) God Speed
