Growing interest in blog advertising

There seems to be a growing interest by companies to advertise on local blogs.

This week alone, I received 3 inquiries for direct advertising here on my blog and on PTB. I have had the occasional advertisers before but they were from individuals and fellow netrepreneurs so the sale is often sealed verbally.

Lately, the inquiries we’re getting are from SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and top firms in the country. Of course it got me pretty excited that to the eyes of these companies, the blog is no longer just a blog or a personal journal, but a good avenue for targetted exposure.

So I whipped up a blog profile and advertising rate card for YugaTech. (You can download it here.) :D

I’m still doing one for the travel blog and the PTB.

Ahhh… so there is still hope for online micro-pubs in this little country of ours. :D Imagine if we could somehow “consolidate” the top ranking quality blogs in the Philippine blogosphere?

I got also an inquiry and told them that mine is a personal blog . They asked what company the blog belongs to and I said it isn’t owned by a company. I’ll check your rates.

Same here. Getting inquiries from my other sites and forums as well, but saly, I don’t know anything about how to properly price an online adspace.

Maybe some help or article you can write ;)
I’ll check your pricing and see what I can learn from it :D

      I ended up giving 6-months free advertising because I don’t have a price :/

Good for you. I wish some of them would come to me too. Nice profile and rate card.

I wonder what your official receipt look like…. Can it be a pdf file? =)

Thanks for posting your rate card, Yuga. It has given many people ideas on how to monetize their blogs.

Yun nga lang, I can’t seem to shake the feeling that your web traffic stats are understated. :-)

      @ Manuel

WP Shortstats is telling me I’m getting between 2,500 and 2,900 uniques per day, though I stuck with Sitemeter as it’s the only tool I had used for about a year now.

      @ jun

I have an official OR if asked but most of the time, a MS Word contract would suffice.

      @ JC

      Wow, free ads ha?

      @ Noemi

That’s nice. Dami pala tayo na inquire. :)
