Seriously, the problem with being finicky about news items is that you tend to drift away from being seen as an all-you-need-to-read tech blog. If your competition writes about most things they come across for that day, they tend to be more useful for readers who are bored, need a constant tech fix, and are always hungry for distraction. Tech blogs usually get their readers from the cubicle crowd. That’s why every weekend traffic is way down.

Same comment as everywhere else: when RSS is unmonetizable, why would networks pay for it?

Also, as an FYI, our base pay is a variable rate 50-250$ and the traffic bonus is up to 1.65$

This is actually a great move by gawker media.

I have always been a quality over quantity type of person and that helped alot. At least for my blogging.
