TLA: Refer to Maker Cheques

Looks like the issue with Text Link Ads isn’t over yet. I just receive notice from my bank as well that my September cheque from TLA was returned. Migs was the first one who mentioned this about 2 weeks ago.

So there goes my measly $304.89 cheque returned to me and my bank account deducted by the same amount plus a $20 processing fee. *ouch*

Ajay did mention to me though that after she reported the incident to Patrick Gavin of TLA, she was promised to have a new payment re-issued which will also cover the bank charges. *whew*

Apparently, TLA has been a victim of forgery. They had to change their bank accounts because of this development.

The new cheques for October and November will bear the new bank accounts and if you received a new one recently, you will notice that the cheque numbers have reset. The September ones are in the 5000 range and the new cheques are now back to 1000-ish.

Hopefully, there’ll be no more incidents like these in the future. :D

That’s not measly! That’s more than the average salary in the Philippines, and 6X my own TLA income.

I wonder if my town’s local money changer has had troubles with the TLA cheques I had converted in to pesos with them. I don’t have a dollar bank account and I was lucky our local town money changer accepts foreign cheques.

Guess, I better check up on them to see if they had the same problems, they may not accept my future TLA cheques if that were the case.

Better get your own USD account, the fact that a third party like the moneychanger can encash your cheque sounds iffy to me.

I got 4 cheques returned today. 2 publisher and 2 affiliates. Unlike yuga I won’t disclose mine. :)

Perhaps I am missing something, but can you not switch to paypal (at least temporarily) whilst TLA sorts out their issues? Or is there some limit on paypal payments?

      Just a thought.

Philippines PayPal accounts are only for sending money.

Mira, you need to open a US dollar bank account in any bank nearest you. It’s only $100 with BDO. Then you can deposit the cheque there and wait for the 20 day clearing period.
